My experience at this chipotle was not only pretty disappointing but also not celiac friendly. I went here for the first time since needing to go gluten free, only to find that they 1. Didn’t have guac when there was a special going on for chips and guac 2. Didn’t have sofritas when I asked to get that in my bowl. I had told the lady working I had celiac disease and could not have gluten which is in wheat, rye, and barley. I will need her to use new toppings that haven’t been touched to put into my bowl. She put on (I guess clean) gloves (she didn’t have them on when walking up) and grabbed my bowl. So I had gotten a white rice and chicken burrito bowl. When I had asked for a certain topping that they were out of and another guy working told her they were out, she, in exaggeration, hits her gloved hand onto the work table where I know there had to have been flour/gluten cross contamination. She then proceeds to fill my bowl and reach into “new toppings” under the counter with the glove she touched onto the counter. She asked me if rice was gluten, and then proceeded to ask me if cilantro was gluten. I appreciated the fact that she was concerned, but I had already specially told her that only wheat rye and barley are gluten. Anyway, I got my burrito bowl and chips and ate them when I got home. Within 2 hours I was extremely sick and it lasted for a couple days. I had been glutened. I’m not sure if it was from her hand on the counter, which at the time I hadn’t thought about, or maybe the spoons that had maybe touched flour tortillas and then put back into the chicken/beans/sour cream, or maybe something there contains gluten when the website claims nothing does but the flour tortillas. Either way, I will not go back, as they were out of two different items and I got very sick from gluten. It is not celiac safe here. Find a different, more celiac friendly place, to dine out.
