They were not willing to get fresh ingredients from the back and would not hear me out.

It took a little bit to explain the need to get fresh meat and rice from the kitchen and all the other items fresh from the refrigerator (explained based on other reviews for Chipotle’s), but they were very accommodating, kind, personable, and inquisitive about the GF diet in general. Best to go when they aren’t busy since they do kinda have to alter their process. Their website shows that all items except for the tortillas are GF.

Notes

Chipotle does not have a gluten free menu but instead has a list of gluten-containing ingredients to avoid. Cross-contamination is a concern, however, so let the person taking your order know that you are gluten free and if you need them to take the proper precautions.

From their website: "If you avoid gluten, don't eat our flour tortillas. If you are highly sensitive to gluten and would like us to change our gloves, just let us know at the start of your order. You should be aware items containing corn, including corn tortillas (chips, soft corn, and crispy corn tortillas) and corn salsa, may have a small amount of gluten from potentially co-mingling with gluten-containing grains in the field."

What I appreciated as soon as I told staff I had celiacs is that they immediately put on fresh gloves. I don't feel 100% confident that there wasn't cross contamination. The work area was clean and tidy though.

This chipotle will take the proper precautions when prompted. They will wash their hands, change utensils, and get potentially cross-contaminated toppings from the back. Some of the staff is not knowledgeable but all have been willing to learn.

New Chipotle location opened recently. The usual Chipotle GF options: burrito bowls, salads, tacos, chips and guac. Food prep minimizes cross contamination contact. I've had a good experience both times I've been there so far.

Gluten Intolerant

I ordered chips and guacamole and asked if they could scoop my guacamole from a fresh container to prevent cross contamination. Initially the young man agreed but then an older gentleman who was his boss raised his voice and refused. I did not want to risk getting sick so did not eat here. The older man raising his voice was rude and embarrassing.
