I used to love it here but they gave me what looked like undercooked sausage once. The home fries are so yummy.

DO NOT EAT HERE!
My Celiac husband and I have been going here for 10 years and have had 0 issues - until today.
We ordered gluten free petite waffles for curbside pickup. Last time we ordered it, they called to say they were out and subbed it for the gluten free french toast. No call this time, so we figured they were good. Got halfway through my waffle before I realized it was not petite as described, and when I called they said "Oh we don't make that anymore, they just went ahead and subbed it with a regular waffle!" Queue the sudden realization that they messed up, the got the manager. He made a few excuses about why it happened and did apologize and refund the order, but said "We've had those discontinued for awhile". When I told him that last time they at least called for a substitution, he said "it was an oversight".
"Well I hope it didn't ruin your day" - Nope, it ruined the week and the migraine is now setting in. Do NOT at here.

Food is very good, but I have gotten sick before. My theory is that the place is mostly staffed by students, avoid the place close to finals, that is the time I tend to get sick from them. Also, student discount.

The upside about Chompie's is that the food is VERY delicious!
Another upside is that they offer "gluten free friendly" items. (Bagels and home fries in particular)
I had a reaction, however, after I ate a GFF bagel. It might have been contaminated in preparation.
Recommended but BE CAUTIOUS!
Pricey but delicious
Very friendly wait staff and the Belgian waffles were awesome! The bagel was toasted and really good too. I didn't have a reaction to any of it so I definitely recommend the one on University in Tempe!

Great selection. Never gotten sick from Chompies. Yum!

Great selection. Loved the GF waffle! Enjoyed the restaurant and didn't get sick!
Yes, they have gf bagels and rolls (what I bought today), and they are delicious and softer than others have sold...however, the tradeoff is that it's because they use eggs as binder/ mouisurizing agent. And I'm even more allergic to eggs.
Gluten free menu is very good and the g-free bread is really great! It's too bad the service at Chompies is TERRIBLE! Our waitress could not have been more rude or angry that we were seated in her section. No drink refills were offered, unless you had coffee (in that case she came around with a pot, once), she greeted our table by saying "well, I suppose you want pickles", and offered little to no help with the gluten free menu (she did tell me the french fries are not g-free). I would never wait for a table here again. It seems the wait staff gets flustered with too many people.
Large gluten free menu. The gluten free bread is delicious.
They have gluten free bagels. I mentioned my concern about cross-contamination based on the reviews I’d seen. The person who took my order assured me they could prepare my bagel sandwich in a separate area, and they just wouldn’t toast my bagel. I had no reaction. Their food was really good. They had prepackaged gluten free bagels too.

Menu has changed. No longer make gf waffles. Waitress said they could make gf French toast but it would be made with gf rolls instead of sliced bread.

They no longer have a gluten free menu. They have a few items like gluten free bagels, but they are very easily cross contaminated.

Have eaten there several times for lunch. Gluten free bread is good. They also sell gluten free bread. Food is good and haven’t had any problems.
