I’m so sad to have to write this review, but I think it’s important for all those with celiac out there to read. We went to this restaurant around 5pm on a Thursday - purposely at a slower time when we could ask questions and make sure it’s was a safe option for me and my daughter, both with celiac. Although the menu clearly had GF options marked and the previous reviews on here were stellar, the waiter informed us that if we really have “true celiac disease, allergy, then we should know that there is a risk for cross contamination with all their dishes and there are no guarantees.” He went on, “I’m sorry but that’s what I have been told to say so you know the situation.” We asked to speak with the manager and he reinforced this message stating, “our kitchen is so small, there’s flour flying everywhere. The meat and fish is prepared right next to the pasta, that’s just the way it is. We are a small Italian restaurant, we can’t really help it.” They stated that even the GF options carried a risk. I was shocked they didn’t talk about their careful food handling procedures or how they would attempt to prevent cross contamination or the previous celiac patients they have served successfully. I was SO disappointed and ultimately we decided it was not worth the risk, so we left without eating there. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars because although I couldn’t try their food, I appreciate their honesty. I truly wonder if they have had some celiac patients get sick recently so they now have changed what they say to customers. I hope this review helps others.
