I have been going to Coco Fairfield's for a few years, now, and realized I've never reviewed this restaurant. This place is about as perfect a balance between GF and non-GF you can get (to bring friends with), without risk of cross contamination.
This little diner has:
1) Dedicated kitchen prep space
2) Dedicated waffle maker
3) Dedicated fryer
4) Dedicated toaster
5) Dedicated griddle space
The flours are also handled in completely different areas. I have never gotten sick here, and the owner has personally mixed a special waffle batter on the spot for me when I had to cut out dairy for a time but didn't want a cornbread waffle (their regular waffles, except this one, have dairy in them).
The head chef (and I absolutely would call her this) is a genius. She makes muffins, cupcakes, brownies, banana (other) breads from scratch to feature every week, it is always GF. I have never had a specialty item that I didn't like.
The only downside, is they don't use warming elements to keep food hot. So, sometimes, food comes out not piping hot, but warm. If you want it super hot, let them know. It is very busy on the weekends, and it is a hot spot for GF eaters, so be prepared for the chance of a wait to sit.
The staff are extremely cheerful and knowledgeable about what is and isn't available, including cross contamination precautions. Almost everything is naturally prepared GF or can be made GF (safely, by Celiac standards).
