Ate at the Reston, VA location last night and it was a terrible experience. The service was sub-par, however, the worst part was that I was blatantly glutened!!! There were 2 pieces of gluten-filled gnocchi in my supposedly GF chicken primavera pasta (which is prepared with certified GF Barilla pasta) Needless to say I am sick. Thank goodness my intolerance doesn’t cause me to be to be hospitalized. I know that many others would be much worse off then I am. Their GF menu is extensive but I will have a very difficult time convincing myself to go back. So disappointing.

I decided to check this place out based on the reviews. I ordered the chopped wedge salad, Mexican drunken shrimp, and short rib risotto. Everything was excellent. They even brought out gluten free bread. I highly recommend this place!

The server told us that the owners kids have celiac. They were very knowledgeable.

This was my third time eating here md I’ve had a great experience every time. There are lots of choices on the GF menu from entrees, pastas, burgers and salads and the wine is quite good as well. I’m really glad this restaurant is another great GF option in Reston

The waitress knew that they “take it very seriously” and couldn’t explain more. He came out right away and let us know they change gloves, have a dedicated grill and utensils, Mark the food, and have specific people that are allowed to handle the food. And the gf bread they bring us soooooo good!

No issues getting sick and have been a few times. One waiter needed to be reminded apparently of gluten free with an item on the gluten free menu was ordered.. He brought me two gluten free shrimp after and said he wouldn't charge me 🤦🏼‍♀️ this most recent time I just made sure to say gf with each item to be safe. I haven't sick any of times I have eaten here.

Cooper’s Hawk has an extensive GF menu, their wait staff are extremely knowledgeable about allergies, their food is amazing and I’ve eaten here multiple times now without getting sick. They have outdoor seating, a standing wine bar, a regular bar and formal seating. I would highly recommend this spot!

Love the gluten free bread! Sometimes they run out though which is disappointing. Lots of options on the menu. Have eaten here many times with no issues.

Told waiter I was Celiac and ordered off gluten free menu. When meal came out nothing was stated about gluten free nor did it have an identifier as gluten free like usual. I tested the pasta and it found gluten. Avoid!

First time I visited, on a Saturday evening, the waiter asked up-front if there were any food allergies at the table (I wish more would do this). Second time on a Wednesday business lunch, the waitress did not ask. Many gluten free options. Wait staff was very good, but it took a while for the food, both times. They were out of a few things, too. They are new and it seems that the kitchen management still needs some work. Food was good to very good but not excellent; however, there is great decor and ambiance. Sweet wines leave something to be desired, in my opinion, but the Sweet Red is pretty good. Again, lots of options, so yay for that!

Our waiter was amazing. Very knowledgeable. Brought out gluten free bread and dessert for my birthday that was gf. They have quite a few options, I ordered the scallops and they were delicious. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it. I am not celiac, but avoid eating gluten so I always like to add that because my sensitivity level may differ from celiacs.

I’m celiac and dairy free. They make every meal from scratch so they can accommodate any allergy. Their gf menu is multiple pages! I love their burgers, pasta, and bread!

Ordered gluten free Mexican Drunken Shrimp. Tested with Nima and results showed gluten. Shrimp also appeared to be deep fried, which should not have been since they do not have a dedicated fryer.

I've been safe here so many times and the wine is so good however at a dinner I ordered the gluten free cheesecake and a glass of wine (cause really dessert sometimes should be the meal). I was so sick. Now I am just hesitant to eat here at all. The wine is cool.

This used to be a favorite spot, but then I was served lettuce wraps with fried wontons in it. Of course I didn’t realize until I ate half of it. The waitress put the order in correctly but the kitchen messed up the order.

Waitress was extremely knowledgeable about cross contamination and assured me others with celiac eat there often and that the kitchen has a dedicated gluten free space. Kitchen manager even came out to thank us for trusting them with allergies as they take it very seriously and they appreciated us choosing to eat there.

Was very disappointed with my meal here on 7/30/19. I ordered a gluten free risotto and talked about the severity of celiac and I was assured that the kitchen had a procedure so there would be no cross contamination. "don't worry we handle this a lot here, you'll be safe". There was many errors with the ordering and they were bringing two of each appetizer. Then when my short rib risotto came the plating was horrible and it looked like there was caked on food that was not washed off the bowl. When I started eatting the $26 dish I found random other food in my meal. This made me feel uncomfortable because if that made it into the bowl what else may have came into contact. I informed the manager and sent my food back. The manager apolagise and did give a complimentary dinner for next time (won't feel comfortable eatting here again though)

They have a large GF menu, but between my mom and I they brought out: a salad with a hidden crouton (my mom Will now be sick), a gluten filled potato dish we caught (manager came out and apologized and then fixed), and a gluten filled dessert (which I caught and they then fixed). Mom got her dinner after we all finished, and I’m getting my dessert after everyone finished.

THE WORST! I ordered a gluten free chicken sandwich and I asked to make sure it was gluten free. They assured me it was and I started eating. The manager saw, but I already had taken multiple bites. I ended up sick for almost a whole week. Do not go here.

I used to be a member but the last few times I went it was clear something was going on in their kitchen. Last TWO times I left feeling ill. I just think they don’t take Celiac disease and nondairy seriously so I canceled the membership and have moved on permanently. Very disappointing!

OMG! Outstanding! Even just the gf bun on the burger makes this my favorite restaurant without doubt! Drunken shrimp is a favorite appetizer, wine tasting is fun and informative. VERY knowledgeable about CC. Never sick

Extensive GF menu and servers are very knowledgeable about the dishes. Warm GF roll with butter was a nice touch. All the food we had was very tasty and the place has a fun vibe. Free tasting of the barrel reserve wine. Will definitely go back.

Cooper’s Hawk is my go-to for fancy GF food. There is a separate GF menu and staff are knowledgeable. You can also order off the regular menu and have substitutions and omissions to make it GF. The candied bacon and artisan cheeses with a GF bun substitution is a must for the appetizer course. Mexican drunken shrimp and chopped wedge salad are a nice fresh duo to start a meal, but may end up filling you by the main course. Don’t miss out on trying the shrimp and scallop risotto and finish up with the flourless chocolate torte.

I’ll start this review off by stating the food was good, and most importantly, safe. Would I come back for the food probably, but the service was some of the worst I’ve ever had. To start, they lost our reservation. No big deal, they made it right cause I had proof on my email. We were seated, and the waiter was slow. No biggie, they were slammed. Drinks took 20 mins to get. Afterwards, apps were ordered. About 10 mins after apps were order we ordered dinner. We requested that salads please come before food. Assured that would happen. 45 mins go by, no app, no salads. Frustrated at this point. Finally all food arrives, never saw an app, and food shows up with salads. I made it known I was unhappy and apps and salad were removed from check. The food was good but the service was so horrendous that it’s hard to stomach going back.

Went to the restaurant on Easter. Was very busy but had no problems with my order. Didn't get sick and neither did my other Celiac family member. Food is on the pricier side so I wouldn't recommend this as an everyday restaurant but I personally had no troubles.

My sisters were visiting from Wichita and our server, who was amazing, pointed out that he too was from Wichita - wish I could remember his name, because he was so knowledgeable about the gluten free menu and he brought out gluten free bread before the meal and brought out chocolate covered strawberries after. He gluten free bread was amazing!!! We enjoyed an amazing meal!

They do a nice job, I have had baby showers, rehearsal dinner and much more here and I haven’t gotten sick. I did have one experience where I didn’t feel confident in my server and the food brought out to me and the manager offered to remake but I chose to not and they gave us a card for a meal on them.

The service at this location leaves a little to be desired, but you just can’t beat the selection of GF options. I’ve eaten at various CH locations many, many times over the past few years and never once had an issue. Their chopped wedge salad, short rib risotto, and turkey burger are stand-out favorites.

We were in the area for vacation. Daughter with celiac and husband with celiac and anaphylactic tree nut allergy. GF bread was the best we’ve ever had and drunken Mexican shrimp were great too. Great service, food and wine options. We went here twice in one week. Wish there was one of these up North. Highly recommend.

Would like to recommend “Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant in North Naples Florida,” there are other locations as well! I booked on open table and when I arrive the hostess said to me, “I just wanted to confirm that you are GF and have a nut allergy, your server and the Chef have already been notified!” Woahhhhhh! I was so impressed as she walked us to the table and placed a small folded card on the table which had my dietary restriction and was left on the table! The GF menu was 5 pgs and included a drink selection! I was also given a chart to cross check for my nut allergy! I order a tossed salad which was huge and I could have split, as it was that big! My entree was Chicken Madeira which tastes as good as it looked! I had cheese cake for desert! My only complaint was the gf bread which was available, but may have been made in a facility with nuts, so I was unable to have! Since it is a winery, we were given free sampling’s before we decided on our wine! I can not even begin to tell u how special this restaurant is if u have Celiac Disease or any allergies! I highly recommend!
