They have amazing food and great gf options. Though they don’t have a dedicated gf menu, the server walked me through what I could get. I ended up modifying their Beef Bourgogne to be over mashed potatoes instead of pasta and my goodness, it was heavenly.
French food is one of the best in the world - if it is authentic. This place clearly isn’t. The dishes can be bland and lacking in seasoning and sauces. The steak tartar was simply horrible. It was as if it was drenched in vinegar. Sadly I won’t be coming back here, unless they magically revamp the menu or start offering better dishes.
I am not sure if dinner will be better, but we went for lunch and were met with an unpleasant hostess and then a waitress that might not have been having the best shift.
To top it off, the waitress was not really encouraging for gluten free options... Salad was here suggestion and lots of it.
My suggestion, try a different place.
Despite the fact that this place is inconsistent in its brilliance (breakfast eggs were terrible, for example) it remains my favourite restaurant in Raleigh because on a good night, when the right chef is working, it is spectacularly good food cooked to perfection by a classically-trained chef who takes great care and is CREATIVE. They don't just give me a boring meal, they make something gluten-free that is INTERESTING. I love the atmosphere here too. I was just very disappointed with the breakfast/brunch, which this being a brasserie I had expected would be good.
