Went into Costa Vida today because several reviews on Instagram said they were gf friendly. Nope! (Set up is very similar to Chipotle). When I asked for fresh beef or chicken from the back that has not been cross contaminated, they said they didn’t have any but could use what is on the line because it was just added to the other meat and should be ok. No thank you. We left empty handed but at least not glutened.

Many gluten free options! And delicious.
Staff ask if it’s a gluten allergy and they change gloves to keep it gluten free
Yes
From their allergen list: We have worked diligently to remove wheat gluten from all our sauces, dressings, and proteins. Natural glutens remain only in our flour and wheat tortillas and in two desserts--tres leches and key lime pie. This means that we offer "oceans of gluten-free options" in our menu. All of these items are gluten-free: all enchiladas, all tacos, all salads (without the flour or wheat tortilla), all nachos, and our chicken tortilla so up...which uses corn strips.
Pretty good. They seemed to understand the allergy protocol. I didn’t get sick

This is my go to place wherever I am. Everything is GF except flour tortillas. They change gloves and are very knowledgeable about crosss contamination. Very safe herr.

Staff was kind and knowledgeable. Changed gloves and washed their hands without being told. They also let us “tweak” the side of chips to have melted cheese instead of having to order a huge order of nachos for a child.
