Gluten free buns available, kitchen changes gloves and tries their best to not cross contaminate. Separate fryer for their fries!!! GF buns are so good, very similar to regular buns.
Cheese curds are made in the same fryers as the fries, so they are not gluten free.
I knew that Culver's had a dedicated Grier for gluten free fries, but just recently I discovered they have a gluten free bun at this location! It comes in it's own sealed plastic bag, it costs $1 extra, and you have to assemble your sandwich yourself, but it's well worth it to have another local place where I can eat out.
Went there with my daughter today and asked questions (again, always, never taking for granted a place is guaranteed safe) and the manager told me that they’ve changed their gf requirements. They only offer gf buns as a gf safe option but do not and will not eliminate cc from the prep line or get condiments/toppings from the cooler. They MAY change their gloves but that doesn’t stop any cc from before. Additionally, he said that even though the patties are cooked on a separate grill, they take the top bun and cook it on the patty for a moment before finishing the burgers, therefore enhancing the risk of cc from the buns on the meat grill.
I love this place! I have never been sick once from eating here. The fact that they have a gluten free bun that is accessible through a drive thru is amazing. Their burgers are great, and I love the fries (which are made in a dedicated fryer). Not to mention the vanilla custard and milkshakes. You can’t go wrong!
they have gluten free buns for their burgers..they have an online allergy menu. i told front register person that my burger was for an allergy..it came up on the register screen..fantastic..... I am only giving four stars because they do not have gluten free fries.
Gluten free buns, and they don’t assemble the sandwich for you which makes me feel much safer! The inside of sandwich comes separately. I don’t risk the fries because I’ve gotten different feedback about them but I love the mashed potatoes without gravy. Most staff is pretty good about it, they ask if it’s allergy or preference.
**NOT** Celiac***Trustworthy**at THIS location; Dispute having gluten free bread, and salads. We ordered a Cashew Chicken salad and specified that we have a “medical gluten allergy.” We were given a salad covered with croutons. Checking our receipt, we saw “! Food Allergy! Gluten” (afterwards, we also saw we had been given a “Grilled Chicken salad - not what we ordered). My wife took it to the front counter while we sat in the far part of the dining area. We could hear the Crew Leader speaking loud enough at my wife for us to hear her. My wife said she “felt like a fool” as the C.L. told her that it it was (my wife’s) responsibility to explain to the “kids” what gluten free means, and to specify what should be left off an order. The reason was that “the kids don’t know what gluten free means.”We were given a replacement salad. This is not indicative of our experiences at other Culver locations around the state.
They have an incredible gf hamburger bun and the fries are gluten free and tasty as well! I’ve eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. The staff is knowledgeable about their menu ingredients! I haven’t asked if they have a dedicated kitchen but will inquire next visit!
I looked so forward to eating here as I have heard nothing but great about this place. We walked in and went up to the counter and inquired about if the place was gluten-free. The girl said yes we have gluten-free buns. I inquired about the fries the fries are cooked in the same oil as gluten products. I didn’t even give it a chance I walked right back out that door. Very very disappointed
Been here several times with no reaction. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination. Fries are NOT in dedicated fryer. I don’t order them. But if you tell them you need a GF bun due to allergy, your order gets flagged. They seem to be knowledgeable and my meat comes in it’s own container with a sealed bun that’s pretty tasty.
I love their burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches. They have a GF bun sealed in its own wrapper. They also have a pot roast sandwich that is GF. Their green beans, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes no gravy are all GF. You need to ask on their fries, some locations have a designated fryer for fries but I know the W. Melbourne location does not. Their custard is also GF. They are really cautious when fixing your food and you let them know about your GF needs. They do have a GF list of foods they can give you if you ask for it.
The staff was helpful and double checked everything for me. I was told their custard bases are GF and just the toppings are not GF (depends on the topping). they have GF buns and will give you everything separately so you can assemble yourself. they have a dedicated fryer for fries but it is right next to the fryer for the cheese curds and has the possibility for cc.
Gluten free buns in sealed packaging - they microwave it and leave it sealed. You get the sandwich contents (cheeseburger for me) in a separate box and assemble it yourself. Seems like a solid way for a fast food place to minimize cross contamination. The server was very knowledgeable - asked preference vs allergy. No dedicated fryer, so skip the fries.
The managers seem to be well-trained re: needed protocols for producing food safely. GF buns are a little tough so we opt for no-bun w extra lettuce. Ask and they’ll run a fresh supply of frozen custard for a RICH root beer float. Regrettably, the fries are prepared in a common fryer so “no” to those. Make sure you get a manager’s attention for your order though...they seem very attentive.
Very friendly staff, familiar with celiac. GF buns for burgers and dedicated fries for fries. They will not guarantee no cross contamination, but my celiac daughter has eaten here several times and loved the fries. They have never given her any reaction.
My salad was made with croutons and the manager came out and took the salad and told me they would make a whole new one, which they did. She was very nice and knowledgeable, but the kitchen and ordering staff really wasn't. However, they we're very accommodating in looking at labels and asking the manager lots of questions. I would definitely go again.
Very impressed and relieved that there is finally a drive through burger joint that finally has gluten free burger buns that taste good, for our road trips. The manager explained that the buns come sealed in so you do put your burger together, but honestly it’s a small price for a delicious soft warm bun. Not crumbly like many gf buns. There is a small up charge but as we only eat out quick food on toad trips, again it’s a small price to pay for the major convenience. Will be going back.
Had a grilled chicken sandwich on their GF bun (which comes sealed in a separate pkg) & added honey mustard dressing as my sauce. Delicious - one my favorite eating out options! Unfortunately, I was told that they don’t have a dedicated fryer, so the fries have a risk of cross contamination. ☹️
Culver’s is my go to choice for fast food burgers. When ordering, specify that you are allergic to gluten and require a gluten free bun. Your order will be printed with a prominent red notation and will be prepared with a protocol that ensures your safety. Your GF bun will be delivered in a sealed wrapper, burger and toppings are in a separate container, and you assemble it yourself. They also have a comprehensive allergen list for all their products available both online and in the restaurant. I have eaten at many different Culver’s locations and have never had a reaction. Great choice for safe GF fast food.
I have Celiac's, but Culver's is popular in my family, so I tried getting the pot roast dinner. The staff too the time to make sure they understood my order, and later brought it out on a separate tray. They were also willing to give me a gluten free bun in place of the sourdough and dinner roll. Impressed so far, I'll be back!
