The girl at the drive-thru grabbed her manager so that they could try to ensure everything was done safely for me, which I appreciated. However, the manager didn't seem to know whether the fries were gluten free (website says they are; he first said they weren't, then said they were, and then clarified that they are fried in gluten-contaminated oil), so I ordered a gluten-free burger (no fries) and asked them to be very careful preparing it. I just got a NimaPartners gluten sensor, so I tested the burger; gluten was found, so I gave it to a family member who does not have celiac. Not safe for gluten intolerances here.

On the Gluten Free Utah Facebook page, a few people have said that Culver’s is one of their go-to’s for fast food, so I thought I’d try it. I think I’ve even read that they use the same brand of GF bun that Red Robin uses, which is amazing. The cashier was pretty knowledgeable about what was gluten free, and said they had gluten free buns for burgers but the fryer is NOT dedicated. For the basket combos, you can choose fries, mashed potatoes, or broccoli as a side. I asked if the mashed potatoes were gluten free, and she pulled out a pamphlet to check—without gravy, they’re gluten free. So I got the classic butter burger as a double, with the gluten free bun, mashed potatoes without the gravy, and their house made root beer. My food took longer and I eventually had to go check on it. Haha, apparently it had been ready and was sitting on a higher up tray, they just forgot to grab it with my family’s order. The burger came deconstructed with the bun still wrapped in its own sealed wrapper (I imagine it was frozen and they warmed it up). The burger was SO amazing. The plain mashed potatoes needed a lot of salt. Next time I’ll order the burger and drink on their own and use the money I saved on a side to get some frozen custard. I was afraid I was starting to react a few hours later, but I think it was just a little indigestion that went away. I’m still dreaming about that amazing burger!

Recently ate here for the first time. Ordered a burger with a gluten free bun and mashed potatoes on the side-as I’d read that the fries cannot be made fully gluten free. I had no issues whatsoever and thought the food tasted good. Given the small kitchen space, there are definitely very valid concerns for cross contact so please do your own research. But in my case, I had no issues.

It was clean in and out parking. Food was hot and a short wait for being busy

They have a great gluten free bun that comes out individually wrapped, which makes me think there's less chance of cross-contamination. There is not a dedicated frier, so no French fries.

It’s a go to for us when I’m in Alabama visiting with my grandkids. I get the GF bun and alert the allergy. The bun is hit or miss with freshness, but it’s ok and better than a lettuce wrap! This location has a dedicated fryer and I’ve never had a reaction. Maybe a full fast food tummy, but not Celiac sick! PS: The custard is really good if ice cream is your thing.
