Fantastic! Many GF options, all good. And excellent GF bread, including brioche. No GF menu, but staff is knowledgeable.

Be sure to mention you have celiacs if you’d like them to clean the workspace to avoid cc. Not sure why I didn’t think of this sooner, but they could possibly also just use a dedicated skillet?
Delicious! They clean the grill before making your food if you tell them you are celiac. Great staff! Knowledgeable about a celiacs needs.

Very helpful. Let me know what would be the safest. I had breakfast tacos and they were amazing. They cleared the area before starting my meal. Outdoor eating space as well.

Fantastic joint with cool atmosphere. Unique food options and staff was very careful about cross contamination and making sure I would be safe. I’m from South Carolina so I had to try the Carolina tacos and they were amazing. Great prices and huge sizes. Definitely a gem that we will revisit every trip!

Ate here 2 consecutive mornings while visiting Anacortes. The owner took my order both times and informed me about what options I had available to me and what modifications needed to be made for each item. He took it very seriously. The food was excellent and I didn't have a reaction to the food (celiac disease).

I got excited when I read the other reviews of this place. As soon as I mentioned Celiac to our server, he went straight in to where they get their GF bread from and other great info. I got the breakfast tacos and they were SO good. Everyone was so nice and helpful there, AND I felt very safe!

If you’re passing through Anacortes, DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE!
First - the meal: ordered the Rueben sandwich, as a German girl, it did not disappoint!! Sandwich was made on a 5-grain gf bread and was fantastic.
Second - the prep: be aware that the staff will literally *shut down the entire grill, clean it thoroughly, and then make your food*, they’ll process everyone else’s orders before yours. I’m used to waiting a while for my gf food, so not a big issue for me. In fact, I really appreciated their attentiveness. The staff was very communicative about the whole process up front, all the while assuring me that it wasn’t a big deal (to stop everything and clean the grill) and they hoped that all places took as much care as they do to get you a nice, safe meal. They do not have a dedicated fryer, *however* they made me a special set of steak fries in a frying pan, and they were also pretty tasty.
Third - Staff was incredibly knowledgeable and beyond helpful in making sure I had a safe meal. Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free, breakfast and lunch are both served all day long, and there are dad jokes and nostalgia all over the place. A+ for character. On top of that, their motto is to “do everything they can not to open a can”. They make their own hamburger, pork, brisket, and everything in between.
Truly a fantastic, darn-near homemade meal and a not a single issue afterward. Highly, HIGHLY recommend trying this place.

We had to stop into Dad’s Diner after reading all the great reviews. In our four day vacation to Anacortes we ate here twice. First I had the Dads Plate with Gluten Free bread and it was delicious - especially considering the basic ingredients of this plate. Second visit I had the Plane Jane on a Gluten Free bun - and WOW! Delicious is an understatement. The customer service was friendly and timely. Fletcher was very friendly and had some great recommendations for us.
We will definitely return next time we visit Anacortes!

Loved this place! Staff is knowledgeable about Celiac Disease, they offer GF options for bread and Gluten Free choices for their menu. They let the kitchen know that the order is for someone who has Celiac Disease, the staff scrub down the cooking area, cook on new cookware, change out the cooking utensils and cook separately from the other orders from the same table. My waitress even came to the table and said that the mayonnaise I wanted has been cross contaminated and offered me another dipping sauce that wasn’t opened. Attention to detail is important here so I really appreciated that. The food is organic mostly and was delicious, I had the Dad’s BLT on Brioche GF bread and pan fried fries as they explained that the don’t have a designated fryer for GF. Overall it was at my risk to eat here because of cross contamination BUT in saying that this place didn’t make me sick! I will be returning with the rest of my family!
Yes
Very willing to cater to our needs - they clean the whole grill before they do the gluten free order, if you let them know you are celiac. Great service and delicious French toast :)

Had breakfast here before catching the ferry to Orcas Island. Super treat to find! They understand GF and can work with you. Celiac kiddo had GF French toast and demolished it. Mimosas were done right, too 😉. Love the dad decor.
Possibly the worlds best breakfast, of all time. They make all of their sauces and meats in house. Amazing GF bread and buns. They can make any dish GF and everything is homemade. Absolutely amazing!!!
Amazing food, celiac friendly and great service!
Amazing GF bread. Most of the food can be made open faced on the bread, not all sauces are GF but they can leave them off when requested. The root beer is also GF!
