Amazing variety of food, if I lived in Portland I’d come again. Super classic food expected in this area. Dedicated fryer was a bonus! All of their soups were gluten free (even the chowder) and our waitress made sure to distance the bread that comes with the soup (I’m sure you could opt to get it without). Our waitress was wonderful, and even inquired about my celiac disease/sensitivity. She told us that the restaurant made a change to mostly GF food when the owner’s daughter was diagnosed with celiac disease about 8 years ago. This reinforced my trust in their dedication to making everything safe for me, as there is familial experience with gluten free food. Great food!

Amazing old school fish house. The best clam chowder I’ve ever had in my life, gf or otherwise. The fish and chips are exceptional. Dedicated fryers. The staff is super aware and great. Robert the main cook is great. I love this place.

The menu clearly indicated which items were gluten free, and the server verified that it was all still current and correct info. I had salmon chowder for the first time ever, some fish tacos, and a few of my wife's French fries. I felt great afterwards!

This place is amazing!!! I can’t say enough!!! From the food to the service!!! We had the Captains Platter and it was great! They use rice flour and fryers are dedicated so they are celiac safe! The owners are great! The kitchen is open style and very clean!!!

Items are not marked GF on the menu. While they use rice flour, they made it clear there is trace gluten in the fry oil so that was not safe, which covers a lot of the menu. No GF bread or bun options. There were a few GF options, much fewer for me because I’m also lactose free. I ended up having shrimp cocktail and chopino which were good but nothing terribly special and I couldn’t have bread with the soup so it didn’t feel like a big meal for a hefty price. I will say the waitstaff was very kind and helpful with checking on my questions, and I did not have a reaction, but in the end I was very limited and likely wouldn’t eat here again with so many better GF options.

Oyster bar changed their menu around because of how many people are GF. The only food item with gluten is their gumbo. I can assure you as a celiac individual, their food is safe!
