Worth the wait and I did not get sick. My mom and I went on a Monday evening. There was a line of four people outside the door and a sign on the door that said wait to be seated. After we arrived, the line continued to form behind us and stretched all the way down the block. After 45 minutes, we and the two parties before us and the two parties behind us were seated. There is no menu. The owner came out and asked us for our order, I told her I had a gluten allergy and she told me what I could have. She said I could not have tostones or anything fried because of cross contamination. She said I could have rice and beans and roast pork or steak, but I asked if the steak had any soy sauce and she said it might so I went with the roast pork (so tender!) rice and beans and a big green coconut with a straw in it for my drink. The food came out fairly quickly and it was absolutely delicious and also quite affordable. If you want authentic, affordable Puerto Rican cuisine and don’t mind a long wait outside, this is the place to go. They seem short staffed and the two people working there were in a hurry, so be sure to explain twice to whoever takes your order that you are gluten free and explain what you cannot have. Worth it if you have the time!
