We had a long trip to Alabama from New Jersey and were starving! We called ahead to confirm everything was safe fir a celiac and when we walked in we were immediately welcomed by the owners. They made my celiac son so happy that he can order ANYTHING on the menu. Food was fabulous and safe. We had tamales, smothered chicken and wings.

Seriously the best food I’ve gotten since going gluten free. Smothered chicken melt was unlike anything I’ve had since going gluten free I wish I had another stomach to finish it. The fried pickles and chili were also crazy good. My family all got tamales and loved them it was the bomb

We were passing through from Baton Rouge and needed a lunch stop. Finding a dedicated GF restaurant wasn’t what we expected but we are glad we found it. The wait staff was amazing and so was the owner. Everyone was very friendly and full of recommendations.

We both had tamales l, the chicken and the pork. Both were great. The corn maque choux was really good as was the sweet potato mash. The tamales and fried pickles were both some of the best we’ve had.

When I researched gluten free restaurants in the Birmingham area for our weekend trip this was my first choice based on the rating and reviews. We visited here on Friday and Saturday night and enjoyed our meals. I had the tamales the first night and they were very good but I had chicken fried chicken tenders the second night and they were awesome. I would maje that my number 1 recommendation for entrees. Save room for the cobbler for dessert.

Had fried Blue Crab , Crawfish Étouffée and fried catfish. All amazing ! Definitely recommend. Meet owner and love how friendly staff was.

My husband just got done eating dinner here. He is driving back from Florida to Wisconsin, and is a newbie to the Gluten Free world. Tired of Beef Sticks, cheese, and Gluten Free menus only as a virtue signal to the community and not for actual concern, care, or health of the customer.

Cross contamination, limited options, and a desire to eat something actually good for once and get "full". Well you did it Delta Blues! I can't thank you enough!! You are an example of what a good restaurant should be, both me and my hubby were almost in tears, because he found a good meal. He has lost 25 pounds in the last few months and it is scary to know he could wither away because he is unable to absorb nutrients when eating something with gluten. The amount of stress, anxiety, and frustration one goes through once having to switch to this lifestyle.

I'm sorry for the long post, you are a CHAMPION and I will shout to the WORLD how much WE APPRECIATE YOU, your PASSION, your COMMITTMENT, and your KINDNESS to those who directly suffer from this horrible disease. Somehow they turned wheat into a bio-weapon for so many people, thank you for being their CURE!

I have wanted to try this restaurant for a long time. Finally did and it did not disappoint my family. Fried jalapeños amazing and the tamales were just as good. Coming from Texas girl who has been raised eating tamales.

This was one of the best GF food experiences I’ve had in a long time. We ordered fried pickles, chicken tenders, red beans and rice and alligator piquant. All of the food was delicious and the service was great! We actually ended up ordering another batch of fried pickles to go- they were that good! It absolutely helped that the wonder has celiacs, so they understood the severity of cross-contamination.

The service was great so was the food. We ordered the fried mushrooms, chicken fried chicken with white gravy over a bed of grits, a small order tamale pie, and a peach cobbler to go. The fried mushrooms are new to the menu and definitely recommend trying them.

The vibe is wonderful, service is outstanding and I wanted one of everything on the menu!!! Additionally, many items are dairy free and soy free. The fried pickles almost made me cry with happiness!

I had the tamales and crawdad etoufee, which tasted great. The Bama Q tamale was awesome, with black bean filling and a tasty tangy slaw on top. It came with a sweet potato mash, that tasted great. I also had the Holy Chipotle tamale dish, and it had a very nice roasted corn topping and chipotle lime sauce. The fried pickles tasted like the classic dish I have tried elsewhere, but I loved that these were gluten free, and were still some of the best I have ever had. Outdoor seating was safely spaced, and the waiter was masked the entire time and service was great. I will be eating here again.

It was nice to come to a place you don’t have to ask a hundred questions. I had the M’sippi melt tamales(chicken)with sweet potato mash. My first tamales ever and it was really good! The cheese sauce was excellent and the corn relish added some freshness. My husband had the two meat chili with corn chips and it was very good as well. This place is a must try for those who want Variety and Piece of mine.

Possibly the safest place in Birmingham to enjoy a worry free meal. They are a dedicated gf facility and have plenty of dairy free options as well. One of the owners has celiacs so the entire staff is more knowledgeable of dietary restrictions than most places I’ve been. Our family eats there at least once a week. Plenty of covid precautions too. Window and curbside pickup available as well.

The entire restaurant is gluten-free. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly when answering questions. They have outdoor seating and indoor distanced seating for Covid precautions. The tamales, fried catfish, chocolate mousse cake and blueberry cobbler were all delicious. I would highly recommend this place. We are looking for an excuse to make the 3 hour drive back!

Amazing selection of fried foods! Entire menu is gluten free and this lady was blown away. I have never been to a restaurant since my wheat allergy developed 12 years ago where I don’t even have to explain myself. Thanks so much, I will be in every time I am close. : )

The servers were cognizant and compassionate and the establishment was well-run according to Covid restrictions. The food was astounding and safe. They also have separation for dairy free and vegan customers.

Fantastic food! Will was our server and he was so nice and knowledgeable even working on New Years Day! Wondering gluten free everything options! We had chicken fingers, fried pickles and tamales! Even great for the non gluten free peeps!

So good. Get some fried jalapeños and “queso,” which is an absolutely fab pimiento cheese. Fried dill pickles. Oh, and hot tamales with all the Southern sides your little heart could want. Turnip greens, sweet potato mash, cole slaw, and some stuff I didn’t know what it was but I am ready to go back and find out. This place is a gem and you have to try it. It’s tucked behind a fence on the ground floor. Can be tricky to find because the sign is one-sided and if you come the wrong way down Cobb you might walk past it. Everything was good. Especially the tamale pie. Go and enjoy eating your favorites again and find some new ones.

Thank the lord I found this place! Very good food! Portions spot on. Will was incredibly knowledgeable and able to give fantastic suggestions.

We love this place it's a little hidden but in a neat location waiter was friendly and talked with us awhile and very relaxed atmosphere food was great and knowing it was a gluten free resturant and I didn't have stress eating was great must try the cheese queso it was the best I ever had.

Really enjoyed my meal here. Awesome to be able to experience southern style cooking on our vacation. I was a little nervous because alright everything can be made GF, they do use regulator flour products on their food too, but I didn’t have a reaction so they must be pretty careful.
