This is by far one of the most wonderful restaurant experiences since my celiac diagnosis! A 100% gluten free facility with awesome fried dishes. Fried jalapeños were perfectly crispy and the catfish is as good as grandma makes. I highly suggest a Bloody Mary, it pairs perfectly with most of the menu.

Amazing food!! Aaahh! All food here is 100% GF. I had fried pickles for the first time in my life. I ordered a classic tamale plate and a catfish taco. My husband ordered the Ragin Cajun. I had some of his food of course lol. I sampled some cider and had a Bloody Mary. Very good! Even took 6 tamales to go!

A little bit of fusion cuisine in a fun, quirky atmosphere. This place does it right. We had the crossroads Queso as an appetizer. Never thought I would like pimento cheese, but I’m here to tell you I’m a convert! For the main course I got the chicken melt (too much cheese for one sitting after the Queso, but it was good!) My husband had the wings and said they were really good. All in a dedicated gf restaurant. What’s not to love?

Best dedicated gluten free facility/restaurant in Birmingham. Doesn’t lose anything at all in taste being gluten free and the wait staff is excellent. Their specialty is tamales, but don’t sleep on the wings (absolutely amazing!) or chicken fingers (best I’ve ever had, GF or not). If you’re looking for fried crunchy goodness, don’t overlook the fried jalapeños appetizer! If you’re looking for a gluten beer that sacrifices nothing, splurge for the Green’s. All this, plus a super down to earth, comfortable atmosphere makes it my home away from home.

We went to Delta Blues last night for my brother's birthday party. Since I'm the only Celiac of the family, I chose the location and didn't even think about the fact that we were bringing in a glutenous cake for him. 🤦🏽‍♀️ My brother is severely autistic, and Bubba was so gracious working with us in keeping the location safe for people like me but making my brother happy when he didn't understand why we couldn't bring the cake in. (He supplied us plates and a separate trash can so we could eat it outside.) Not to mention, everyone loved the food and couldn't believe you could have such a wonderful meal without gluten. ;) But seriously, the food is wonderful, the service was great, even with our large (and loud) party, and we always make a point to stop here every time we're in Birmingham.

Really good food and it’s all gluten free. The only thing they have that isn’t gluten free is beer, but they aren’t allowed to bring that into certain areas where food is prepared.

This is one of two dedicated gluten free eat in restaurants in Birmingham (so far!). We always feel safe taking our toddler here to eat. And we don’t feel bad if it’s rush because we don’t have to make special requests of the chef or staff. Everything is safe! Food is good too!

One of the owners has celiac. I was able to have fried catfish for the first time since my diagnosis! My friend had the tamale pie. Both were delicious! It is so nice knowing the eatery is safe. Even in the door and the menu, they require no outside food being brought in to cut down on cross contamination

Everything was gluten free. Very friendly and they do not allow foreign food into the business, so I'm not afraid to put my hands on the table. Regular beer was on the menu for non celiacs, but they had celiac friendly drinks available.

Oh. my. gosh. I can't say enough about this amazing place! When I come 'home' to visit Alabama, I am usually resigned to not getting to eat good southern food. But at Delta Blues, I ate the best gluten free fried chicken and fried pickles I have ever had! I felt 'normal' for a bit, getting to order off of the regular menu and not worrying about CC. I also love the decor, and the owners are amazing too. Thank you Delta Blues for an amazing southern meal!!

This is my favorite restaurant in bham. Their whole menu is gf. They always have fun gf beers and ciders on tap. Including a seasonal gf beer from trim tab brewery! Absolutely favorite. I bring all my friends and family here when they visit. I have celiac but by bf and friends don't. They love it just the same. Everyone that works there is amazing. They even sell their gf flour so you can make their creations at home. (I'd rather buy it there and enjoy the environment)

this place is dedicated GF restaurant. The tamales are made with blue corn flour and they come with dipping sauce. They are not bad, but they are different. They have other menu options. such as chicken fingers. I was informed by the waitress that the owner has Celiac and Hashimotos.

Absolutely amazing! Everything on the menu is GF which is so rare to find. Fried pickles? Yes please! I haven’t eaten those in years. My fiancé and I both ordered the chicken fingers which were HUGE! The staff is so knowledgeable and accommodating to food allergies. They also sell their GF flour so I can make my own fried goodness at home. If there was one small suggestion I could add, it would be to offer more sides. I wasn’t really impressed with the baked beans or slaw and cucumber salad doesn’t really go with fried food. Perhaps some French fries or homemade potato chips would be a great addition. I will definitely return to Delta Blues when I visit Birmingham. Highly recommend!

Such an awesome place! I got GF chicken tenders and fried pickles. Everything except for a few beers is GF. Everything is made from scratch except one of the pie's and ice cream. They cater to you so well if you have any additional allergies too. Almost everything is also dairy and egg free and soy free!! Tastes amazing, my mom is not GF and she loved it. Met other Celiacs there too. Highly recommend!

I have never written a review on this website before but this place is an absolute rarity. Amazingly good food whether you have celiac's or not. It's all gluten free and I mean all of it. Tamales, chicken tenders, fried pickles and the best thing on the menu, fried jalapeño slices with queso. You can't find delta food this good many places, and definitely not in a dedicated GF environment. Great patio ambiance too. Frankly this is the most satisfying meal I've eaten since being diagnosed with Celiacs. I felt like a normal person again who could order whatever I wanted and know that I'm getting the fully leaded, delicious version. I'm glowing a bit, but seriously. Eating here will change your perception about "gluten free" food. Yes there's no gluten in it, but at the end of the day It's just food and it's delicious.

Delicious food. Entire menu is gluten free and dairy free and soy free. (One dessert has soy and of course the beer is not gluten free). I loved the hummus, the pork slider taco, and the tamales. Most of their food is spicy, so keep that in mind. I can't wait to go back!

Great wings. Tamales were great for my wife. Spicy but really good. More meat than filler. Server was fantastic and took the time to explain everything. Outside patio is very nice and shaded. Whether you are gluten free or not food is fantastic. Nice to be able to relax and not worry about gluten.

Took my son who has celiac disease to this gem of a restaurant today. He was so appreciative of being able to enjoy a meal knowing that the entire menu was dedicated gluten free. I thought it was interesting that it doesn't advertise as such because the menu choices and food quality proves that it can be gluten free and delicious for all, not just for those with a gluten intolerance. The outside patio was a perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The servers were friendly and prompt with all food and beverage needs. We shared the fried pickles app and they were crisp and well seasoned. He enjoyed the queso dip more than I did. I highly recommend the Tamale Pie topped with Homemade Chili, Cheddar Cheese, Sour Cream, Jalapenos, and Green Onions. He cleaned the plate for his entree choice of red beans and rice with andouille sausage. We will definitely be back for more!
