Honestly, I feel 75% of the time they get it absolutely right. I have no idea about cross-contamination policies.
I usually feel ok/good after, I did eat their wings and felt like I was going to get sick to my stomach immediately. That was over a year ago though.
Ribs are so good! Love the food, recommend the mashed potatoes as a side for sure!
Haven’t been in a long time.
A bit pricey but serving sizes are great.

Separate GF menu with a separate allergen folder. The manager brought out the GF separate from the rest of the food. Our daughter who is Celiac and sensitive to cross contamination had a great meal. We'll definitely be back!

This place was great! They have a separate GF menu, wait staff is very knowledgeable about GF and allergy prep. Many items are naturally GF and GF plates I was told are prepped separately. My meal came out on a different plate that they keep separate for GF meals and brought to the table separately by the manager. The only problem was that the food looked so delicious I immediately began to consume it before taking a photo.

Barbecue sauce is gluten-free
Got the pulled chicken bbq bowl off the gf menu. They had so many options it was honestly hard to choose! They were very careful and reassured me that my meal hadn’t touched any other food! It was delicious and I left very full.

Dedicated Gluten Free Menu, my meal came out on a different color plate and separately from the rest of my party to prevent cross contamination.

I’ve eaten here at least a dozen times and never had a bad reaction. They have a separate gluten free menu and they will take out gluten free food separately and one a different colored tray from the regular trays. Food is also delicious!

I specified I needed gluten free and ordered from the gluten free menu. I ended up with cornbread on my plate on top of my food. She asked if I needed it sent back. It still came out with crumbs on the other food.

Ugh. I am leaving this review feeling very conflicted. I LOVE dinosaur bbq and have eaten safely at their other establishments (Syracuse&Brooklyn) numerous times. We even had them cater our wedding!! This review is specifically related to my experience at the Troy location. I ate there last Sunday, specified that I have Celiac Disease and was halfway through my meal when I noticed a small piece of cornbread mixed into my mashed potatoes! I am 3 months pregnant, was a 4 hour drive from home and was a total mess worrying about the possible aftermath. The waitress and manager were very apologetic and kind but the damage was done and I refused their offer of a new dish. Obviously there was some carelessness in the kitchen that day and I worry about how strict their GF protocol is at this location. This may be an isolated incident and I know accidents do happen, but I’d advise anyone who eats at this location to be extremely careful, maybe request the manager to oversee your plate and inspect your food before you eat it!

Very knowledgeable server. Big selection. Best ribs I’ve ever eaten

Their catering is much better than their restaurant food. We had it for a family party and everything was delicious and no one got sick. If you need to order food for a crowd this was great

Despite some recent negative reviews, I gave Dino a shot. I went for lunch while it wasn't busy and sat at the bar. The bartender seemed knowledgeable; she knew to ask if I wanted a cider, not a beer. My food came on a different colored plate and the server paid close attention to what they were doing. I felt comfortable.

This is the type of place that has good intentions, but poor execution. I told the waitress I was gluten free, but when my plate came there was a big piece of cornbread on it. We've also ordered takeout and gotten mixed reviews on which items were and were not gluten free.
If you are looking for great BBQ, Try PJ's in Saratoga. They are great.

The wife has celiac's and was able to enjoy some excellent pulled pork (the rubs on the pork are GF). She was able to get a salad (be careful though, not all dressings are GF) and mashed potatoes as sides. The meal turned out great and the waitress was very knowledgeable in the precautions necessary. I'm not sure if this is standard protocol now but the GF meals are all plated in red plates where normal meals are plated on blue. I've dined here before but never with my celiac wife. Reading some of the recent reviews worried me, but we were pleasantly surprised and as always the food was fantastic.

i ordered a "gluten free" meal. im glad i checked my food before eating. i had noodles in my collard greens. i would of been sick for days !!!i wont order from here again. THEY ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE. VERY POOR CARE IN CROSS CONTAMINATION

The food is really good and I love the staff but I got glutened here. I really can't say enough for how good the food is! They do have a few gf options at the bar, so if you're going to listen to a band, you've got choices there.

Delicious & had a GF menu, but I had a reaction to my dish. I got the pork with baked beans & mashed potatoes.

They have a large gluten free menu with many BBQ items but watch out. First they served me mac and cheese (NOT gluten free) and I had to explain that mac and cheese was not gluten free. Then when they served me my new meal, my pulled pork had a piece of mac and cheese in it, suggesting they just moved my other meal to a new plate. I tried to explain the issue of cross contamination to them but my waiter did not understand.

Food good. Large beer selection of no use to Celiacs. Last visit, found pasta mixed into the supposed gluten-free pulled-pork. Another in our party was glutened. Don't believe they take GF seriously here.

Dined there on Sunday, 10/11/15 for daughter's birthday. Two of three celiacs were glutened! Son had MACARONIS IN HIS PULLED PORK! He ordered the 'bad a-- pulled pork plate' and got 'bad a--', alright! ugh! The two who were glutened spent the night miserable. The waitress & kitchen & manager were non-chalant about the whole thing. VERY disappointing experience as we have enjoyed Dinosaur BBQ here and in Rochester multiple times with no problems. But now? Now their GF efforts seem to be merely a nod to the fad GF-ers. This is insufficient and very upsetting. Heavy, woeful, sigh.....

They take allergies seriously and food is very good.

Amazing! A GF menu and knowledgable wait staff! Any choices.
Ate burger and mashed potatoes here safely!!

When I asked for a GF menu, server proactively asked if I had Celiac. The order was flagged and came out on a separate colored plate. Made me feel very comfortable. And they have Red Bridge.
Yes
Had a sampler, pulled pork was OK, brisket was good, ribs are amazing, best I've had anywhere. I'll come back again just for ribs. Gluten free meals go on a red plate to be sure they don't cross contaminate in the back.

Absolutely delicious and so close to campus.

Very good for GF!

Absolutely delicious every time! Love that all their sauces are GF! Highly recommend the ribs
Great place to eat. All sauces are gluten free. They are very accommodating.
I love this place. Great GF food. I've never had any issues here.
All of their bbq sauces are GF.
Accommodating. I have several allergies (celiac, dairy, allium, honey, etc) and they were able to make me chicken breast and a salad with tomato, carrot, oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. I put the chicken on the salad and really enjoyed the meal. Staff was very knowledgeable.

I ate here with my nephew who has Celiac and can’t tolerate any cross contamination and we both did great! I have now eaten there 4 times in the last two months because they have the best full gluten free menu, they have special color plates and the shift manager brings out the GF dishes themselves. So far, Dino has been the best GF restaurant in the Syracuse area for me.

We ate at an event where Dinosaur BBQ supplied the food. The host requested everything GF and explained there was someone with Celiac. I also called to get my own comfort level. I felt very reassured by the person on the phone that they take great caution in their preparation to avoid cross contamination. She even told me "if the host is serving GF rolls, make sure your son goes through the line first to avoid cross contamination." That told me that she understood.
The food was delicious and my son felt safe eating it.
