I was hesitant after reading the reviews but was told there is a dedicated frier for the chips so I had chips & queso with a margarita while I caught up with a friend.

You’d expect this place to have a number of gf options, but it is SO hard to eat gf here. They don’t have a dedicated fryer, and they fry TONS of random ingredients. The chips definitely aren’t safe, but they’ll sub crushed-up tostada shells at $1/shell... so chips & guac will cost you minimum $15. Seriously not worth it. And if ordering tacos, you have to be sure they’re subbing out all the randomly fried ingredients. They used to provide their giant allergy book if you asked, which was admittedly complicated to try to use. Last time I asked they wouldn’t bring it out and couldn’t tell me many specifics, so I just walked out. I do feel fairly confident in ordering the queso fundido dish ONLINE, where you can select and note GF. And it’s super tasty although probably a heart attack in the making. 🤣

They fry battered fish in with the chips. So chips and shells are not gluten free. Cross contamination. Must choose soft shells. Not a happy person.

This place is definitely gluten free friendly and friendly to those with the Celiac disease.Like Donkey's bff Shrek, this place is like an onion with it's many layers. This place is certainly overpriced for a place to eat a meal at. BUT if you're just looking to go have a margarita with your gal pals, then YASSSS queen def go to Donkey. If you have a Shrek of an appetite then stay away and perhaps eat in at your swamp! If you're just looking to get a little tipsy with your girlfriend's like EVERYONE, then hit donkey up yo.
