This used to be great and the donuts are amazing! But something has changed in the last several months... I got sick twice in a row. Won't eat there anymore 😕
Their gluten free donuts are so incredibly good! Seriously though. Get some- you won’t be sorry!
I have eaten here several times and delivered donuts to several celiac friends who LOVE their donuts and have reported that these donuts do NOT make them sick. I have a friend who hadn’t had a donut in 10 years before I brought her one from her. She was so thankful. She loves when I bring her one now!!
The food is delicious, however both celiac family members have gotten sick after eating here and they tried it a few times thinking it was from something else. Those of us who are just intolerant have done fine, but definitely questionable for those with celiacs.
I don’t trust this place as far as I could throw it. There is no way these donuts are gluten free. They may have been at one time, but they most certainly are not now. This place came highly recommended by friends and family who are new to gluten free diets and celiac disease, but do admit to cheating. My celiac daughter was sick very soon after eating here and spent the day in agony. Please avoid if you have celiac disease.
I last ate here over a year and a half ago. Aside from a sauce the dinner dishes were all gf and the plain donuts and donut holes were gluten free but not the filled donuts. She wouldn’t guarantee gf since she did not have testing done. However the owner is celiac. I had a great experience several times without reaction. I was going to go back more recently but was concerned about the recent reviews and am curious to know what has changed because when I was there it was so good and I am so sensitive but had no reaction
Love this place. First time in 10 years I can safely eat real donuts, kolaches, croissants, and dinner rolls that rival the gluten loaded stuff. Very sweet owners. I usually order a dozen of each via phone a few days ahead .
One of the owners of this place is celiac. They are for sure gluten free. I love this place and I am so glad they are here. These donuts are AMAZING
I used to highly recommend this place, until I started hearing she wasn't being truthful about the products being gluten free. I went in and asked her about it once, and she became very sheepish and her body language told me she wasn't being honest. All signs stating gluten free have been removed, so to me, that's the biggest indication that she has learned her mistake after dozens of people approaching her about being sick after eating her donuts. People with the NIMA gluten test kit have said the donuts come back highly glutened. I would not recommend.
Oct 14th my wif4e & I ordered donut holes & applefriters. We are gluten sensitive & asked the elder lady behind the counter several times if the pastries were gluten free. She couldn't speak english but replied several times that the pastries were good & nodded okay. Two days later both my wife & I have stomach discomfort & problems. We are certain that the pastries are not gluten free. Anyone gluten sensitive should avoid this place.
I haven't had a donut in so long. It was amazing!!! My best friend is celiac and I bought a dozen to take home to her. The food is delicious too. Wish I could have found out about this place sooner!!
I went there and asked if it was gluten free. The women was very nice and she said yes. Gave me free donuts to try. They were delicious and I was super excited until I started throwing up. Now Im severely sick. I dont understand why someone would say they are and really not be gluten free. Dont you understand that can make people extremely sick? I get sick for days as the gluten goes through my colon. Back pain, leg pain, spasming colon. Thanks!
This place serves AMAZING donuts with tons of variety! You cannot even tell the donuts are gfree! I've tried lots of gfree donuts and was always disappointed. Dont know how they do it, but these are fantastic!! Wish there was a bakery like this where I live.
We went there because it was a recommended "gf donut". I asked which donuts were gf, the lady stated that none of them were and it's only "special". I asked her if there was a special day for gf donuts, she said no! She said we would be fine even though we needed gf. I bought a dozen donuts and they were delicious, but my son, who needed gf didn't eat them. She tried to get him to taste one and he said "no thank you". I said "he cannot, he will be sick, that's why we requested gf!" She just laughed! Delicious donuts, definitely not gf or celiac safe :(
I have Celiac, and I bought a dozen of the donuts. When I opened the container I realized that they looked and smelled too good to be true. I thought that I should test them. I have the EZ Gluten testing kit from Elisa Technologies, and it has not been wrong yet. These donuts scored a high positive on the test. So glad I didn't eat them.
Great donuts! I have celiac and have never had a problem. The donuts are to die for!!
The donuts are probably sorcery! I've never had a better donut, gluten or not. I have gotten very sick from them, and (more often) not sick at all. I usually think it's worth the chance, but if it was my child with celiac disease and up to me to protect her I would not let her eat here.
Supposed to be celiac safe...my daughter has gotten sick (vomiting for hours) after eating donuts here 2x. Will not be back due to not safe for celiac daughter :(
The donuts were amazing! They actually tasted like wheat donuts. I have a gluten and egg allergy. I did not have any trouble. My daughter, on the other hand, is more sensitive than I am. She did have a reaction. She is also allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. Although the donuts were gluten, egg, and nut free, they were definitely cross contaminated with something. I will continue to eat there, but I won't risk my daughter having another reaction.
We went here after reading the rave "Celiac safe" reviews. After speaking with the owner, and hearing her say there was an 85% chance they were gluten free, we stupidly choose to eat donuts thinking perhaps we misunderstood her. Both my son and I, both Celiac, were terribly sick. I even had to take steroids to tame the cramps and puking. True celiacs beware.
Previously known as "Vietnamese Garden", it has the same cook, Lilly, that is celiac and truly understands gluten-free. Food was very flavorful although the menu is limited and donuts are only available in the morning. Great hole-in-the-wall find!
We just had there donut holes, long john, sour cream fritter, and a cinnamon role and had no problems even non-celiac folks will love it
This place is amazing!! Basically everything except for the sandwiches and hoisen and soy sauces (on the table) is gluten free. INCLUDING THE DONUTS!!! I talked to the owner and she said that she uses a combination of potato, rice, and almond flour. She doesn't use wheat in any of her cooking. The owner was so nice, since it was my first time trying her donuts she gave me a bag for free!! I had the chicken noodle bowl and spring rolls for dinner and they both were delicious. I love this place!!!
Seriously amazing place! Donuts are phenomenal!! Taste just like I remember the regular kind tasted like, AND I got to try the types of donuts I never even had a chance to try before going GF! The Vietnamese dishes are delicious! We had chicken egg rolls (OMG!), pork noodle bowl, and pho. Loved every bite of it! Customer service is out of this world! We can't wait til we go back to Colorado again!
Owner is celiac.... I have never had a better doughnut... gf or not!!! Really amazing yeast raised... like a whole case full! No cross contamination... all GF!!!
One of my favorites. Great asian food as well as the donuts blow any other donuts you've had out of the water. You're wrong if you have not tried them.
I can't believe after eating here so many times and recommending this place to so many people I forgot to write a review! It is amazing walking in and being able to choose any of the donuts. They are all amazing! They look and taste like the real deal. I have brought them to work to share with all the gluten eating guys and even they loved them. Everything is made from scratch to avoid possible allergens. She makes her own powdered sugar to avoid cornstarch. She makes her own soy sauce without soy. Truly amazing.
So good. Technically it's a dedicated gluten business She doesn't cook with gluten the owner has celiac. The donuts are fun. All gf. And her menu is gf. Everything is fresh and light. Basil and mint galore. So good. Egg rolls are fried with rice paper She doesn't cook with soy either. Come and support her. Such good food
DONUTS. Two years, no donuts, and these are perfect. So perfect that it's a little scary, honestly, but it's been two days and I'm not sick. I've also had a pig-in-a-blanket, it was so so very good and lovely with Sriracha. My husband is also eating the spring rolls right now and he says they are good and very fresh.
Never thought I would have a donut again, and these are fantastic. The rest of my family enjoys them just as much as I do.
I have seen multiple recommendations for the donuts here, but was a little skeptical that they were really that good. They ARE that good! I tried the eclair and a donut hole, and both were awesome. Can't wait to try more! I'm really not a big donut person, but when I want one I *really* want one, and these hit the spot!
my family loves the food here, and having gf donuts that are just like a regular donut is amazing. The question is whether or not the donuts truly are gf. But, the food on the menu is a definite go.:-)
It was probably not a good thing (for my weight) that I tried one of their delicious GF donuts! Oh my goodness! The taste and texture are just like I remember a donut should be. And they are ALL GF! So yummy!
Just had donuts from this place and yum! Made with potato and rice flour- so delicious:). They also serve gluten free Vietnamese food. Can't wait to try out other foods.
