Staff was lovely and the non-GF pizza was Excellent! The GF pizza was Detroit style and disappointing for a little kid. Too big and poofy. We ordered non-dairy plain cheese. It came out with 3 big alternating stripes of exposed sauce and cheese. Also pretty costly—$20 for a small that we didn’t eat most of. T
I hope they will come up with a GF-NY-style thin crust and we’ll give it another go and I appreciate that they are making an effort. Maybe if we liked Detroit-style and it had real cheese on it, it would have been a better experience.
Yes!!
Celiacs dream!!
Best pizza 🍕 dough by far — hands down you’d be surprised by how “NON” —GF it tastes! Its deep dish style is a surprise & texture is by far one of the best! We know being GF we hardly get a thick crust pizza that has a bread consistency.
Try them out!!
You won’t be disappointed
This is the pizza of Celiac dreams! It is crunchy, not soggy at all! The chicken is amazing, as well as most of their sauces! They take so many precautions, use separate equipment and ingredients, all staff is very knowledgeable!! I feel so safe eating here, and everything is delicious! My non-Celiac husband and kiddo also love to eat here
Oh my gosh! I didn’t realize how much I missed chicken strips until I tried theirs today…and somehow the GF Hot Honey Pepperoni pizza was even better!! I found their instagram months again and have been waiting to try out the menu. The only complaint I have is that they don’t have a location in IL☺
First off the service was phenomenal and the staff was super friendly. They helped us easily navigate what was gluten free and what was not. The taste of the food was great. As a personal opinion I don’t like super thick crust so this is a place I won’t return to. However if you do like a nice thick crust this place is 100% for you!
The best GF chicken strips I’ve ever had! Can’t rant enough about this place. The staff was extremely helpful with ordering. My boyfriend and I split the gluten free pizza (hot honey pepperoni) and it was fantastic. He couldn’t tell it was GF crust. Do yourself a favor and get the GF Galactic brownie.
LOVED this place! Newly diagnosed with celiac and this is the first restaurant that did not give me any symptoms. Had the gluten free Sicilian pie and it was absolutely delicious, couldn’t tell that it was gluten free. Better yet, my boyfriend who is not gluten free loved the regular pizza so we can both go there and enjoy delicious food. Highly recommend this place for both safety and taste!
We LOVE this place!!! My daughter has Celiac and is very sensitive. We have eaten here multiple times and she has never gotten sick. The food here is delicious…GF thick crust pizza, fries, chicken strips, and the most amazing cosmic brownies. Dedicated fryer. The staff is wonderful!
I wish I had caught the name of the manager because she was so helpful and knowledgeable! As someone with celiac, I'm pretty careful where I visit and what I eat. Dough Counter has some excellent information on their website regarding our gluten-free precautions, and their food is delightful. I tried the Sicilian pizza on my second visit time and the first time I had the nuggets and fries. I highly recommend! The pizza is fluffy and doughy - if you're looking for the classic flat bread pizza, this is probably not your move. But if you're open to trying something new I would recommend this place!
My daughter who has Celiac and is fairly reactive has eaten here twice with no issues. She had the GF pizza, chicken fries and the Cosmic Brownie cake. We typically don’t trust pizza places for her, but trust this one. If you take a look at their website, you will see they are very knowledgeable with it comes to cross contamination.
Mixed feelings. The Sicilian crust is made with wheat starch processed to remove gluten (Caputo Fioreglut Gluten Free Flour, first ingredient is wheat starch). I didn’t know this before I had already ordered a pizza. Happily, the fried chicken was juicy deliciousness and made with a rice flour base, no Fioreglut.
I don’t have Celiac, but historically I’ve had problems with all manner of wheat and am very sensitive to CC. I sadly did not feel like I was having good digestion after having the pizza, and it might have been from low levels of gluten and gliadin.
I’d go back for the chicken and fries, it was a cute friendly place!

Excellent food! I have been here several times now. The chicken fingers and fries are fantastic. The GF pizza is thick crust Sicilian, and it's amazing. The staff is very knowledgeable about safety precautions. I haven't had the cosmic cake, but it looks fantastic. Almost all sauces and salad dressing are GF (but not all). Very casual atmosphere and perfect place to eat there or get food to go.
Everyone needs to come here!! Dedicated fryers for chicken and fries. I haven’t had chicken fingers in FOREVER!! It’s up on Colorado just a couple miles from DU. Thank you to whomeve posted about this place earlier this week! They even knew their sauces without me asking. The chicken is crispy and amazing as well as the fried.
Think of a pizza place in NYC that you can smell from the street, Dough Counter is like that but better because they have an extensive gluten free menu! Their gf menu is amazing! They ONLY offer gf chicken strips and fries! Plus they have gluten free Sicilian pizza you can order in any flavor which is DELICIOUS!
Like its sister restaurant, Marco’s Coal Fired, Dough Counter is an amazing place for Celiacs. Where else can you get gluten-free Sicilian pizza AND fried chicken that is safe? I’d argue — nowhere else. My wife ate to her heart’s content with no fear of getting sick, and everything tasted fantastic. They also had vegan options for me (allergic to dairy and egg). It’s rare that we can find a place we can both eat safely and actually enjoy the food. We will definitely be back!
So good!!! Just got home and can’t wait to go back! The pizzas are amazing - customer service was the best I can remember in a really long time. Check out their website for their protocols. Chicken tenders were also great - huge portions - should have gotten 3 instead of 6 😁- really really glad we were able to finally try this place!
Very yummy! The chicken tenders were a treat! Love their attention to detail and transparency with cross contamination precautions. Sicilian pizza dough was airy and just a little caramelized on the bottom. Don’t need to eat very much since it’s a thick crust. Hit the spot for us!
