This is a casual dining experience with a variety of seasonal inspired offerings. The menu is not marked regarding GF items; however, staff are well versed in making recommendations. They take what precautions are available in a small kitchen which is clearly visible as one orders. The fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer, free of gluten. However, they caution regarding the proximity to the contaminated fryer right next to it. They take what care they can and I did not have any reactions. The fries were tasty. The sandwich was just okay. I’ll admit to a tad of disappointment.
I had the Seabiscuit sandwich on gluten free bread and it was amazing! They had two options for gluten free bread, toast or a bun, and the waitress had tried both and was able to give me her opinion. The bread must’ve been made in-house or at a local bakery because it wasn’t like any I’d had before. It didn’t fall apart and even had a slight yeast bread sweetness! The sandwich was delicious and wonderfully messy, we don’t usually get to enjoy those things gluten free. Cannot recommend Eastport more highly!
Went for the first time and was reassured they can accommodate GF. They do have a separate fryer for the fries and have GF buns for sandwiches. I asked if they can make any breakfast items GF and they said they could substitute toast and buns, but not pancakes or the fried chicken. I had a cheeseburger and fries, which were both good. The sit-down atmosphere was cute. The price was high at almost $20 for a cheeseburger and fries, no drink.
Eastport Kitchen is great with allergies! They have gluten free bread/buns and a dedicated fryer for their French fries. Their staff is very knowledgeable. They also are able to determine if their dinner specials can be made GF/DF. One of my favorite spots!
I had an hour to kill today in the area and thanks to this app I am now the Eastport Kitchen's newest fan. I enjoyed a fabulously delicious sandwich with a side of homemade fries made in a dedicated gluten-free fryer. I'm excited to have a new go-to in the area
Eastport Kitchen is a fantastic option for celiacs! Most of their sandwiches are GF if you substitute the GF bread, and they also have some amazing salads that can be topped with various GF proteins.
I’ve tried a good chunk of the menu and have never felt sick after any of my meals. Their staff seems very informed about cross contamination and seems to make every effort to prevent it.
I’m not certain how sensitive I am to cross contamination but I’d have no problem recommending this location to other celiacs!
a wonderful local spot with very reasonable prices. The gluten free bread is an option for any sandwich with generous serving of fries on the side
Staff knowledgeable about GF. Daughter who has celiac had a burger with GF bun and delicious hand cut fries (dedicated fryer). She was thrilled and did not have any problems after her meal. They also offer nightly specials. Mostly open for breakfast and lunch, and then dinner on the weekends.
