I have never had a bad experience here. We always stop here on the way into Pittsburgh. The menu offerings are good & the food is delicious. I’ve never had any issues with cross-contamination or illness after eating here. Love the breakfast options & burgers with GF bun. Their buns are the best! I often purchase a dozen or so (individually wrapped & frozen) to bring home.
The staff here had attended special training and the manager brought my food out separately to me. The menu includes a special section detailing GF offerings and describing how to modify other items ( for example, delicious GF buns are available for burgers or sandwiches ). It is a diner, so the food is diner food, but they went to the extra effort for me such that I felt safe.
Yes, they have gf buns and gf pancakes. Are the meals good? Not really. Basic diner food at a basic diner- gluten free or otherwise.
I work here, I highly recommend not to trust the gluten free bread or fries, I’ve seen heavy cross contamination. Bacon is cooked on the same grill we use to brown Italian bread, cook garlic bread, make pancakes, and grilled cheese garlic bread is passed to finisher on top of cooked fries spatulas for sauces are not changed nor do they have a separate sauce bin I was very disappointed to see this, not only for the contamination but also due to watching a video specifically about celiac friendliness and the effects of gluten during my training.
There is an online website you can get by scanning the QR code next to the allergy information. It is super helpful. It shows you what you can eat, what you can’t, and what to replace to get that option. It is super easy to use. I always get the salad bar, and I have never had an issue.
