They use gluten free batter for their pancakes, but use the same griddle as the wheat pancakes. It may be ok for people who avoid gluten as a lifestyle, but no way is it safe for those with celiac disease!
Absolutely the best pancakes I have ever eaten, gf or not. They had the choice of a couple of mix-ins and I chose blueberries. Topped with powdered sugar. Divine! The coffee was amazing as well. Couldn't believe this was from a chain restaurant!
Great food with very good gluten free pancakes and toast
We were about to walkout due to gluten cross contamination issues with one griddle. Lou, the owner, came out, and we discussed the issues. He fried everything in a separate frying pan for one celiac guest in our party of five. They even fried fresh bacon instead of using the morning flash baked batch. It can be celiac friendly, but you need to let them know. They could use a little more education on celiac though.
Good, though limited gluten-free options. Annoying that if you want anything with GF pancakes, such as eggs or bacon, it's extra. Note that pancakes are griddled on the same surface as everything else. I have no problems eating there with enzymes. Service is good, though food comes up slow. There's a wait every day, so use the app to get in the queue.
We went to breakfast and it was very good. The manager Elizabeth was very smart on GF and used separate pots for the southwestern home fries platter. The food was delicious and portions bigger than we could eat. They do not have a separate waffle maker so no GF waffles. Our server Ashley was also very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We were GF safe there and will return for sure. Thank You again for a wonderful breakfast, great end to our weekend at Myrtle Beach!
We had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth the manager. She spoke with my celiac daughter and let her know how the GF pancakes are made and let her decide if she wanted the grill to be cleaned and her cakes made. My daughter had the pancakes, loved them and had no incident. Our waitress, Stephanie was great! We will be eating there again in the morning!
They offer "gluten friendly" menu items which mean the ingredients are GF but the preparation is decidedly not. The only thing prepare in a dedicated manner is the GF waffles but be sure you ask that they use the dedicated waffle iron. Eggs, bacon, everything else is prepared on a shared grill. We asked about using a separate pan but chef said no to that. So waffles and hot cocoa were delicious but we won't chance anything else here. Service was wonderful, though we did have to ask for clarification everything step of the way.
Very good breakfast place, but not for celiac. Items are listed as "gluten friendly", not gluten free. The grill is not cleaned for allergies, so EVERYTHING is cross contaminated. Poached eggs and fruit are basically your only safe choices. For those without allergies, the food is great. So is the service.
This is a very busy place on weekend mornings and that makes me worried about cross contamination or orders getting mixed up in the kitchen. Our rushed waitress didn't make me feel confident that the appropriate precautions were being made with my GF order. The GF pancakes were good and the egg skillet was delish. But as a celiac, I probably won't be going back.
Very good breakfast offerings for those with celiac/gluten issues. Menu is clearly marked with GF options and server for comfortable and familiar with the request. Marked ticket with GF allergy note. My 8 yr old daughter was very happy to have their GF pancake - it was even in a Mickey Mouse shape. My husband was happy with his potato and egg skillet. Food came out fast and service was excellent. Glad we found it.
Very accommodating. Celiac friendly...just ask for Heather, The manager of Eggs Up Grill. Heather has celiac disease therefore she completely understands what has to be done for people that have celiac disease. The food is eggcellent and delicious! The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I frequently dine there with a smile.
