The food was good but almost immediately when I got home I started bloating and feeling nauseous (gluten-ing symptoms). I went about two weeks ago and it looks like they were hiring a new cook so maybe they didn’t know. I was so sad though because there is a whole gluten free menu. I was really looking forward to it.
We had breakfast here while in town for the weekend. It is a very small no frills diner. The owner and several family members have celiac. Good protocols in place to avoid cross contamination. They do not have a separate waffle iron so we did not try those. Food was good and waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable.
They served me regular pancakes, even though I ordered off the GF menu and made sure to say I wanted the GF ones. I double-checked because another server brought them out, and it turns out they weren’t GF. I’m very glad I checked! The pancakes were okay, though not great. They served them with store-bought syrup that wasn’t very good. My partner did not enjoy the regular eggs Benedict. The French toast has dairy, so I wasn’t able to have that. They also don’t have any non-dairy options to put in your coffee, so I couldn’t get coffee.
I'm giving this place 1 star because they are NOT upfront about their closing time and I don't want anyone else to have to suffer the same disappointment.
I have celiac and was in a swim meet over the weekend. We rushed and tried to make it there before 1:00pm. We just made it and I went in and was told "Sorry, we turned our grill off at 12:45pm". I asked for a manager... it did no good. I guess business is good enough to turn people away.
Keep in mind that if you show up after 12:45pm they will not serve you and all the begging in the world will not make them turn the grill back on.
BTW the FIND ME GLUTEN FREE APP/SITE states that this business closes at 1:00. Yelp says 12:30pm. Wish they had a website so you would know. Apparently Yelp is more accurate as we were NOT SERVED TODAY. Use the phone with this place I guess. Call ahead.
Do not be fooled by the modest exterior. This was the best gluten free breakfast I have had since being diagnosed with celiac disease. We had eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, potatoes, and French toast. I was so full I couldn't eat lunch. Do not pass this little gem of a place up.
A-MAZING! Fresh baked goods are homemade on the premises. The family that owns it has gluten free family members, so they know what they're doing!
I'm not usually one to write a restaurant review, but I had to for Eggs Up! I had a wonderful breakfast experience. Eggs Up has a huge gluten free menu that includes breakfast staples like pancakes, omelets, and egg sandwiches. I ordered the wild berry pancakes with a side of bacon and coffee. Yum! As someone who always seems to burn homemade pancakes, it's nice to be able to go somewhere and order gf pancakes. The atmosphere was cozy and our waitress was very nice. Prices are reasonable - my meal cost $7.95 and that was one of the more expensive choices. I will definitely be back!
Great breakfast with some of the best tasting options I've tasted.
