*update* Confirmed as another reviewer had said that the fryer isn’t technically gluten free. If you ask them they will say yes, but when I asked if the beer batter for the fish goes into the fryer they said it does, but they use Omission beer (which is a gluten removed beer and on its own is not celiac-safe) The batter is otherwise GF. The amount of gluten that might end up in the oil from a gluten-removed beer is not something I am personally concerned with, but that’s a call you’ll have to make for yourself. I eat the chips here and I’ve never felt sick.
Awesome food. Most of the menu is gluten free, except for the tortas, according to our server. I had the sopes con huevos and shared the both guac and the esquites appetizer with the table. Everything was delicious. Very good tequila selection too.
The food was really awesome. The entire dinner menu is gluten free (but the breakfast menu apparently has a few gluten containing items) so there is a ton to choose from. Service was pretty fast and there was plenty of available seating inside during the dinner hour. Only drawback of this place is that they have no outdoor seating whatsoever.
The food is honestly hit or miss…some things are out of this world delicious (like the puerco con nopales en chile verde or the alambres) and some things are pretty underwhelming (like the mole). If you’re like me and picked the wrong thing on their extremely long menu you’re first time here, give them another shot!
The food and service here was fantastic. I went midweek for dinner the menu said 99% gluten free. I asked for clarification and the one non gf item was only for breakfast. I HAD THE PICK OF THE WHOLE MENU. Everything was homemade and the salsa has a nice kick to it (the menu warns you and there’s salsa verde if that’s not your thing). Plus the vibe of this place was great.
Great restaurant, and it’s been great for 20 years. This is one of the places I’ll make a trip for both before and after my celiac diagnosis.
Shrimp in chipotle cream sauce was terrific. Texture on the shrimp and black beans were perfect — most places can’t do either! And the tequila shot I ordered was a VERY generous pour. :)
We had a man amazing dinner at ElMoose!! 99% of the menu is gluten free, dedicated fryer, and knowledgeable staff. They were so great, friendly & reassuring. The food… was seriously delicious! We live many miles south of ElMoose and I know we will make the drive up to enjoy it again. Delicious!!
I never have to worry about eating here, plus the food is so good that I can bring absolutely anyone in my life here and they can find something they enjoy! I literally dream about this food and I highly recommend the Al Pastor tacos, as well as the Machaca Con Papas, with a horchata to wash it all down!
Everything on the menu is Gluten Free with the exception of the tortas, which use bread from an outside bakery, and is not fried so has little chance of cross contamination. They’re great when you notify them you have celiac so they make sure not to touch a torta then make your food. Eat here all the time and have never gotten sick. Plus it’s fantastic and proved good.
They accommodated my extended family of 12 plus my service dog (not a small dude!) really well, and the food was absolutely delicious! I had the chips with trio of salsas and guacamole, all of which were fab, as well as the tequila shrimp and part of my son’s street corn appetizer. Everything I ate was very good, including the grapefruit marg! Highly recommend!
This is probably my favorite place to eat/order from in Seattle. The food is amazing and 99.9% of the menu is naturally GF - the only gluten comes from the bread for the Tortas on the brunch/lunch menu and they don't make it in-house. I've eaten here dozens of times and never had a reaction.
The Carne Asada and Manchamanteles are my go-to entrees, but everything I've tried as been delicious even when it gets a bit too spicy for my taste. I also love the guacamole+chips and the flan!
Side note if you plan to order for delivery: sometimes they will stop taking delivery orders during "busy times" like Friday and Saturday evenings. If you want to be safe, try to put your order in before 6-7pm.
Tasty food. We did enchiladas de puya, shrimp in cream sauce, and the sopes huevo. All delicious, but the salsa de puya is pretty spicy after taste! (The cheese enchiladas themselves are great, I scraped the sauce off and mixed some green salsa from the sopes huevo to meditate the heat).
Only gluten containing items (torta, sandwiches) are on the lunch menu.
They do make a GF beer battered fried fish that goes in the fryer, and it is a gluten removed beer. The risk from that then causing cross contamination issues is pretty low, but just so you know. But there is tons to order if you decide not to do any items (eg plantains) from the fryer.
Waiter was knowledgeable. Outdoor dining was covered but with plenty of air flow making it a safe option.
