They use shared equipment and don't use clean knives to chop up your food. I would not recommend for anyone who is a celiac.
No
The thing is with a lot of these food chains is that there will be cross contamination, so if you are diagnosed with celiac, I would stay away. The rice has has traces of gluten in it, but the chicken is GF as far as I know. If you do not have serious gluten issues, get the chicken bowls or salads.
Their food selection might have a lot of gluten free options on their menu. However, they use shared utensils, cutting boards etc.

Good food good selections for GF
Has a gf menu online, speaker sucks so the cashier helping us had trouble hearing us. I am also dairy free and had the pollo bowl.

They have plenty of options, one of my go-to chains.

Dedicated gluten free menu on website, not in store. Staff was not knowledgeable. But ingredients are simple and listed under each menu item.
Tasty, juicy chicken. We had the bowls. No complaints.

Picked up takeout today, first time to eat here since celiac diagnosis. Hard to find their GF info online but finally found a link after I clicked on a menu item. Warns there’s no dedicated kitchen or cross contamination protection but much of their menu is listed as GF. Chicken and most sides are on the GF list as is the milky drink horchata! Here’s the GF link as of 9-9-2022: https://www.elpolloloco.com/content/pdfs/epl_gluten_info_mod_4_2022_hr-1.pdf
