Symptomatic Celiac

Overall Rating

Review

We went to this restaurant because of the celiac friendly reviews. We had high hopes since our waitress was knowledgeable and assured us that they knew how to handle a meal to be Celiac friendly. When my husband's dish came, after a few bites the waitress panicked and told him to stop eating because the pasta was not GF. We all panicked, we know what happens when a Celiac person gets glutened. She checked with the kitchen staff and they assured her it was GF pasta. Unfortunately, not even 30 minutes passed and my husband started showing symptoms of being glutened. We were not one of the lucky ones to enjoy a good GF Italian dish.

All the pasta dishes are available in a GF option. However, it is penne for all dishes. Delicious carbonara and pana cotta!

First, gluten free items are Listed as Celiac-friendly, which told me that they know what a serious gluten allergy actually means. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and went beyond what I asked, but also added more information so that I could make informed choices. She noticed my hesitation about pasta dishes, so she went out of her way to explain how they were prepared so that I could feel safe ordering pasta if I so chose. Deserts offered were highlighted with a happy “celiac friendly” confirmation by our waitress. Food was outstanding, celiac knowledge was above average and service was amazing. I ordered the salmon and it was delicious. Emilia staff could not have more accommodating to make me feel safe….and I was!

Waitstaff and kitchen are both well-versed with food allergies. Lots of options! Pastas can be made with gluten free pasta.. but I always end up ordering a non-pasta entree because they’re so good!!!

They are incredibly accommodating to any food allergies, and especially celiac. They can make any of the pasta dishes gluten free, and have specific dishes labeled “celiac friendly.” Wonderful food with great flavor! Pricey for the small portions though.
