Small but mighty with flavor. GF bread was on smaller side but large selection for GF menu including a Rueben! A great variety to choose on the separate GF menu. Not a dedicated fryer but fries not coated so they are okay for all 3 of us. Will definitely go back and try other items!
I am a regular at Emmett's and have celiac disease. I have enjoyed the reuben and club sandwiches mentioned in the below reviews with no reactions. I have also enjoyed most of the other gluten-free items on the menu and have never had a reaction. I believe that it is the customer's responsibility to be clear and specific to the waiter when they are ordering about they need. I always emphasize that I have celiac and not merely a sensitivity. When their food arrives the customer should double-check with the waiter to make sure everything was prepared properly.
Emmett's offers a gluten free menu but is not gluten free. Called ahead and was assured that the chef was trained in gluten free prep. The waiter also was "100% sure" that the food was prepared gluten free. Said "I'm the gluten free guy." Said his job is to watch the kitchen and make sure the food is gluten free. I was guaranteed the French onion soup without bread was prepared gluten free. This is simply not true! I am wide awake at 4 am sick. Please be careful if you have celiac!
REAL GLUTEN FREE NO - Anaphylactic shock/Medical Dangers – Good Management NO – NOT A CLUE
We were at Emmett’s last night and although they have a “Gluten Free” menu, they DO NOT understand people that are Gluten Free. It is possibly understandable to make a mistake BUT when the mistake is caught by the customer it is NOT acceptable to return the order to the kitchen, change out (in my case) the hamburger bun and return the meal to the customer. I explained Anaphylactic shock to my server and they remade my order. Someone else brought the new plate to me but said nothing. My server later said this person was the restaurant manager. The burger was not that good, my family had already finished eating and the cost of my meal was not taken off our bill until I requested it.
Emmett’s should be taken off the list of restaurants serving Gluten Free meals until they have a better understanding of what Gluten Free means.
I applaud the gluten free menu but anyone with celiac needs to be careful when eating there. Their "gluten free" menu includes french fries that are not fried in a dedicated fryer. I've had two waitresses tell me this and the 2nd one even volunteered the information when she saw I had a GF menu so so knew it was an issue. Otherwise food is good and the wait staff are very nice (just be careful). Not a bad choice if your non GF friends want to go to a micro brewery.
Fairly large gluten free menu. I had a southwestern steak salad. I was happy.
Gluten free apps, dinner, bread and buns. Not a dedicated fryer, but will sub a salad for no up charge. Food is good.
There is a separate gf menu with a variety of options. I had the Reuben and it was outstanding. I noticed my sandwich didn’t come with a pickle spear so I asked for a pickle. The staff informed me after checking that the pickle was brined in a malted vinegar and not gluten free. I appreciated the extra measures they took to ensure I had a gluten free meal. Great service, great experience and great food.
Menu has definitely shrunk since covid. French onion soup is the only reason I still come. Food otherwise is OK. Service is less than stellar. Waitress ignored us most the time. Didn't get a second drink for my husband until well after he had finished eating even though he ordered it before we got our food.
Yes, the waitress noted on the dinner ticket which items were to be gluten free. I had the French Onion soup, crouton free of course, and a burger with sauteed mushrooms and onions with cole slaw and an Angry Orchard. The service was great, especially for how busy they were. We waited 50 minutes or so for a table, but well worth it.
