Large Gluten-Free menu that includes appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, entrees, and desert. I have had the grilled salmon and also burgers; all are very good. No Gluten-Free beer, but they have Angry Orchard cider, wine, and hard liquor. Your non-GF friends will love the large selection of high quality, award winning beers brewed on site. Parking can be tough at times, but overall a nice place for a Celiac.
So I ordered a GF burger. When it arrived the bun was still frozen. So I sent it back. When it returned, the plate had all my original food including the "poked" bun and my partially eaten potatoes. WThis time the top bun was fine, but the bottom bun still wasn't.
Phenomenal!!! The second we walked in and asked for a GF menu the manager was all over it. When the waiter arrived at the table he already knew my daughter had celiac disease. When shevirdered avkuddie cocktail he came back to advise there was Rises brand grenadine in it and wanted to be sure it was safe (it was). 100% perfect experience!! Wecwill go back again, and again!!
The manager in particular was very wise and friendly and aware of celiac disease. We found this restaurant on this app with a 100% rating for celiac. I wanted to add to their stats because they deserve it!! I went last night. My stomach is doing just great. They had gf wild mushroom risotto with sea scallops and it was incredible. They also have a gluten free French onion soup, appetizer options and a creme brûlée on their menu. Everything we tried was phenomenal. They were super friendly and careful. 😁
I am a regular at Emmett's and have celiac disease. I have enjoyed the reuben and club sandwiches mentioned in the below reviews with no reactions. I have also enjoyed most of the other gluten-free items on the menu and have never had a reaction. I believe that it is the customer's responsibility to be clear and specific to the waiter when they are ordering about they need. I always emphasize that I have celiac and not merely a sensitivity. When their food arrives the customer should double-check with the waiter to make sure everything was prepared properly.
Emmett's offers a gluten free menu but is not gluten free. Called ahead and was assured that the chef was trained in gluten free prep. The waiter also was "100% sure" that the food was prepared gluten free. Said "I'm the gluten free guy." Said his job is to watch the kitchen and make sure the food is gluten free. I was guaranteed the French onion soup without bread was prepared gluten free. This is simply not true! I am wide awake at 4 am sick. Please be careful if you have celiac!
REAL GLUTEN FREE NO - Anaphylactic shock/Medical Dangers – Good Management NO – NOT A CLUE We were at Emmett’s last night and although they have a “Gluten Free” menu, they DO NOT understand people that are Gluten Free. It is possibly understandable to make a mistake BUT when the mistake is caught by the customer it is NOT acceptable to return the order to the kitchen, change out (in my case) the hamburger bun and return the meal to the customer. I explained Anaphylactic shock to my server and they remade my order. Someone else brought the new plate to me but said nothing. My server later said this person was the restaurant manager. The burger was not that good, my family had already finished eating and the cost of my meal was not taken off our bill until I requested it. Emmett’s should be taken off the list of restaurants serving Gluten Free meals until they have a better understanding of what Gluten Free means.
I applaud the gluten free menu but anyone with celiac needs to be careful when eating there. Their "gluten free" menu includes french fries that are not fried in a dedicated fryer. I've had two waitresses tell me this and the 2nd one even volunteered the information when she saw I had a GF menu so so knew it was an issue. Otherwise food is good and the wait staff are very nice (just be careful). Not a bad choice if your non GF friends want to go to a micro brewery.
