We had breakfast here this morning and it was fantastic! My husband and son have celiac and they both had breakfast sandwiches with gluten free bread. My son sad that it didn’t taste gluten free! Lots of wonderful gluten free offerings in the market, too. A wonderful place in this small town and we all highly recommend! They are closed on Sundays.

They have gluten free quiche and gluten free bread for sandwiches. The store also has tons of gluten free packaged items! Great to find this place on a drive through Utah that has had limited options.

The Mercantile is a cute little spot that surprisingly carried a lot of GF products as well as baking items. They had frozen meat but not fresh, they do have fresh produce. But the biggest surprise was they were able to accommodate a GF sandwich for breakfast. They heat up the bread in the microwave, so they don’t toast it. I asked them to bag it separate for me. I tested ‘the carnivore’ with my Nima Sensor and it was all GF (in this small town it was to my surprise)! It was good, nothing mind blowing but to be accommodated for hot breakfast in this tiny town while passing through on a hiking trip was incredible! I did not ever get sick either, total success! Support this store if you can!

This is a GREAT little grocery store with a bakery/deli. We stopped in looking for breakfast and really hit the jackpot. They can make you a delicious gluten free breakfast sandwich and stock many gluten free items in the grocery store. Marcie, the owner, is such a lovely person. I wish I lived near Escalante so we could be regular customers. Do stop in if you are ever in the area!

Excellent shop for gluten free, dairy free groceries! Fresh, local eggs, homemade smoothies. They had several of our staples we get at home (simple mills, Siete, etc.) Great patio for enjoying a snack or coffee outside.

This was one of the better GF pizzas I’ve had! My kids preferred my pizza to their regular crust. Awesome to find a good pizza in a smaller city.

This place is incredible. It had more selection than some of the major grocery stores back home. Gluten free cookies, pretzels, fig newtons, chips, crackers, etc. she has homemade smoked artichoke dip and smoothies that are excellent. Full coffee bar and fresh eggs and produce as well

This is a great small grocery store and deli counter. My kids had sandwiches on GF bread and there is a nice selection of GF chips and pretzels.

What a gem of a little grocery store! Lots of GF choices/brands and an owner who cares! Fresh salads, organic produce, beautiful store. We were camping in Escalante and found everything we needed here! It's a store, but there's nothing else in town that's GF. Closed Nov-Feb, call ahead to check hours of operation.
