Staff was extremely knowledgeable about Celiac & cross contamination. My mom & I enjoyed the prosciutto & melon appetizer (delicious!) & split 2 pasta courses; gnocchi with bolognese & ravioli with tomato sauce. Their pastas are hand made in house in a separate section, using separate cooking tools, water, & sauce (all info I received when I called for my reservation). They were delicious, just needed a touch more salt for my liking. For dessert, I had the budino, which is like a dark chocolate mousse/pudding with hazelnuts & chocolate chunks on top. The whole meal & experience was phenomenal!
INCREDIBLE gluten free food and wonderful service! We walked in about an hour before seeing a show and there were no tables available. The hostess brought some chairs and sat us at the bar until a table opened up. She brought us the menus while at the bar and took food orders from there to make sure we had enough time to enjoy our meal. She gave us a 4 seater table instead of having us wait for a 2 seater and was so kind throughout the evening! I have celiac and my boyfriend and I ordered a gluten free gnocchi with bolognese as well as gluten free ravioli with marinara sauce. Both of them were amazing - the gnocchi melted in your mouth and was the best thing we ate in 4 days in NYC including several Italian restaurants! The sauce was superb, very flavorful and well seasoned. My boyfriend loved his old fashioned drink as well which strengthened in flavor as it sat. Incredibly fast service, never had to ask for more water or anything. Would DEFINITELY recommend for those with gluten allergies or anyone!
I didn't have a reaction, so if you are just looking for someplace safe to eat, this would work. However, I thought the food was just ok - I was so excited to have gnocchi again - but I didn't think it was anything special. On top of that, it was very expensive and the waiter was rude. Bottom line, they have gluten free options and I did not get sick BUT There are so many places to eat in New York, I wouldn't go back.
Came here twice during my week stay in the city - the first time I had the gnocchi with bolognese and a burrata appetizer, and the second time the ravioli with tomato sauce. I wasn’t super impressed with the ravioli - it was undercooked and not very flavorful, everything else was amazing tho, and I didn’t have any issues. The owner has a gluten allergy and the staff takes it seriously - they’re all super knowledgeable and helpful! They have gluten free desserts as well - I tried the chocolate pudding and mango creme brûlée, and both were great!
Absolutely awesome! Multiple GF options. EXTREMELY knowledgeable waitstaff (David). I had the skirt steak my husband had the tuna. Both delicious and cooked perfectly. Finished with the “budino” chocolate pudding with hazelnuts and whipped cream. Lovely meal!
Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable about the whole gluten free issue and added more items on the menu not specifically marked as GF. He knew the issue and his menu. The spinach and ricotta ravioli was lovely as was the risotto, chocolate pudding and pannacotta. GF bread as a starter when your other half is eating normal bread is my only suggestion and a smile or welcome from other staff.
Are here last night and it was AMAZING!!! GF meals were delivered separate from regular meals but, at the same time by a different server. Good was amazing. Cross contamination prevention was taken seriously by waiter and hostess. May head back before the end of our stay. GF Gnocchi and spinach ravioli are out of this world.
A great pre theater restaurant Not very touristy. Wonderful atmosphere. Very gluten friendly & knowledgeable. Our server David treated us like VIPs. Wonderful roasted cauliflower soup. So flavorful. Hand made gluten free pasta. I had delicious spinach ravioli & mango crime brûlée. A real treat compared to getting stuck w grilled chicken & a potato! Pricey but worth it!
Incredibly delicious food, staff was absolutely amazing. My husband and i celebrated our anniversary here and they made it so special. Our waiter was very knowledgable about cross-contamination and let us know if anything we ordered wasn't gluten free (like the walnuts on our salad, which I never would have known). They have a shared fryer so the french fries aren't celiac safe, but I had the skirt steak and brussel sprouts and they were to die for. Would definitely visit again and recommend to celiacs. Great restaurant if you are going to a show after, very close to many theaters and they make sure to ask your showtime so that you will make it on time
So I called these guys when they came up in a local search for gluten free restaurants in the area while I was visiting New York. When they told me they house made their own pasta's which included gnocchi I was sold and had to try this place. So on to the meal itself, I had to get the GF gnocchi in a butter sage sauce. It was awesome, though a heavier interpretation of gnocchi. Which isn't surprising considering they are GF and most GF products are a bit denser. According to the waiter they took 8 months to develop this blend, I have to say good work. I also had the cauliflower soup which was awesome. The waiter was positively hilarious with every table around me. Also knowledgeable about the menu.
Went here for my birthday this week. Being gluten free I looked into this place once I saw they made house made gluten free pasta. Made my reservation and then ended up needing it to be a half hour later and they had no problem to change it for me. Sadly they were out of the gluten free ravioli but the gnocchi was delicious. They were extremely aware of my allergy and actually told me one of the things I wanted wasn't gf preventing a lot of pain I would have been in. My dad brought me flowers and they held them in the front for me so I didn't have to sit with them on my lap. Delicious food and dessert but a bit pricy (don't forget you are in the broadway disctrict.) they even ask if you are going to a show to make sure your food is ot quick. Great place!
Very fast service. They are really committed to getting you to the theater on time. Menu has clearly identified gluten free pasta items which were great. Also the waiter was very knowledgeable about the sauces and what else on the menu was gluten free. Great experience.
Staff was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The pasta is fresh: there are 3 choices. The GF gnocchi was out of this world! My 9 year old daughter loved the GF ravioli! The GF tagliatelle was a bit firm for our taste, but still good. We felt safe and well cared for by the staff. Great spot close to theater district. Will definitely go back.
Fabulous restaurant, very knowledgeable staff. When I told them my son needed gf, they asked if he had an intolerance or if he had celiac. When I said celiac they said ok no cross contamination. He got a great pasta dish and wonderful desert. They went thru the menu with him to tell him other options they have for appetizers. The only thing missing is some GF bread with the meal. I really wish they had that. But I really recommend this place..food was fantastic.
So yummy. Gluten free home made pasta with the vegi sauce was soooooooo good. I've missed soft delicious real pasta. Onto dessert which they have options!! A must to check out. Wish I wasn't just visiting because I'd be back more often. Till next time I'm in New York!
