Recommend. Had a GF Bambi burger, fries. NonGF family had vegetarian and cheese burgers. All thoroughly enjoyed. We ordered by phone and collected by car as takeaway for a late afternoon lunch after long hikes in the hills. We didn’t need dinner and fell asleep well satisfied. Recommend ordering by phone to avoid the long queue.

Absolutely incredible burger here. One of the best I’ve had. I went for the ‘deluxe’ and the bun was so good I had to double check it was definitely gluten free.. one for the memory book!

Definitely best gluten free burgers I ever tried in my life.. I went there 3 times, first one I was a bit worried because of the huge amount of people that is always on the queue..wondering if they can really pay attention on gluten free orders while being so busy all the time. But it worked.. My burger came out with the label celiac and I never felt sick

It's an institution in Queenstown. There will be a long line whenever you go. But don't be deterred. It actually moves quite quickly. It is a little bit chaotic, but it's controlled. Definitely part of the experience.
The burger bun has sesame seeds, so I couldn't try it. They were very helpful with all of my questions.
The fries were really good!
I liked that they had a variety that wasn't just burgers. I was able to get an Indian spiced chicken version and is perfect in a lettuce wrap.

A really fun spot with lots of options. Order at counter and they double checked allergens and our burgers came out labeled for celiac. But it’s a busy place and the dedicated gf fries fryer is right next to the onion ring fryer- I saw some onion ring oil leak into the fries while they were standing there.

Not sure it is worth the queue for the food and like some other reviews mentioned, they say they take precautions for gluten allergies but some staff get sloppy when busy (which is always). The server who took my order was very reassuring and confirmed I had a gluten allergy and said my burger and fries would be cooked separately (and it is a longer wait than others but fine). The person who handed me my food (was neither the food prep person nor the person I ordered from) gathered the fries from the same communal fryer (like McDonalds). I asked her to confirm these were gluten free and she said “yes” without checking with anyone who actually prepared it. The burger was clearly labelled with a ‘celiac’ sticker but the fries were not. The burger and GF bun were pretty good; the fries were generic and tasted like McDonalds and definitely cooked in some shared oil with gluten. I got sick. BBQ and Sweet Chilli sauces ‘may contain gluten’ so skip those. Tries hard but fails.

I ended up eating here twice. The first time I got the regular fergburger on a GF bun with fries and the staff labeled it celiac and had a separate area to prep it. They informed me that some of the fry sauces had gluten in it and to avoid my partners dips. The second time a less experienced worker was there and had to consult a booklet to let me know which speciality burgers were gluten free. I ended up with a lamb burger, but it got mislabeled a different burger as gluten free so there was some minor confusion. Everything ended up fine but since they’re so busy it might be worth double checking before you leave. The gluten free bun looked suspiciously normal and I had to check other peoples buns to make sure, it’s just a good looking bun!

A little worried that with the chaos of so many orders this would be hard but I trusted the other reviews and was not disappointed: bun is prepared in a separate area of the kitchen and comes out clearly marked. The best GF hamburger bun I've ever had! actually large enough to hold a hamburger and didn't fall apart! Love that the fryer is gluten free so that I could have fries as well.

Lovely burgers, decent size with a quality bun. They made note of our order being for a coeliac which is reassuring. The line up was long but moved quickly, order took about 20-25mins to prepare.

Fantastic burgers. Just let the person at the counter know that you need GF for an allergy/Celiac, and they will make it in a special part of the kitchen. The bun was large and fluffy. I had to double check that it was actually GF. I ate it at a local park, since the shop seats were all full.

Very busy place, but my server knew exactly what I was allowed to eat. Changed my burger accordingly and when I received my burger it had a a Celiac sticker on it. Tasty burger and had the fries too as they’re cooked in a dedicated gf fryer. Would eat here again!

My coeliac daughter loved her burger. When I ordered & asked for a GF bun, I was immediately asked if it was for a coeliac. Hot chips are GF. Big queue, it moved quickly.

I had the most delicious gluten-free and dairy free burger! Ferg burger are really helpful and ask if you’re celiac or intolerant and explain how they keep your food safe without you even having to ask!

So glad you enjoyed your burger with us!
Great experience! Went once for a breakfast sandwich and once for a burger. The hash browns on the breakfast sandwich aren’t celiac safe (I think they go in a separate fryer than the fries but would verify) so they modified and toasted the bun separately. Felt safe ordering there and didn’t get sick. Really great burger and took care with my order even though they were slammed.

Thanks for your review Julianne. Unfortunately our hashbrowns aren't celiac friendly, but I am so glad you still enjoyed your burger with the modifications.
One of the best burgers I've ever eaten, the bag my burger came in was clearly labelled and the gluten free bun was so soft!

As a highly sensitive celiac I 100% recommend this place as a wonderful go to takeaway or quick food. I was so impressed with the cleaning practices and separate fryer for the celiac food. Your food is separated for the gluten food s and there is no cross contamination.

Best burger I have had in a long time !! Told the staff I was coeliac when ordering and they said they could do almost all of them gf. The fries were gf too and were amazing. Even in such a chaotic kitchen they prepare the gf burgers separately and specified it was an allergy multiple times so I felt very safe. I would go back every day if I could :D

Took our burgers out to another area to prep - I’m impressed.
Amazing options - yummy food - dedicated fryer - so so happy we came here! My Miss 8 was stoked to eat a real burger that was safe and super yummy (as was I!) staff knew difference between Coeliac and Basic GF. Asked at order.
Super friendly staff, didn’t wait long even though busy.

When ordering clarified if dietary choice vs allergy. Gluten free bun. Celiac notice shows up on receipt. Burger was fantastic. Fries were reported to be in separate fryer and were delicious.

Burger was delicious. The guy that helped us out knew exactly what was safe and what wasn’t. He also said make sure to say celiac when ordering and food would be made out the back. Biggest burger I’ve ever attempted to eat and it didn’t disappoint
Yes
Delicious! The staff was knowledgeable about gluten allergy. They have really good GF buns and plenty of dipping sauces. Their bakery next door also had GF items
I got the fergburger with a gluten free bun and didn’t eat the fries just in case. I did end up with a stomach ache that night but was fine the next day so it must’ve just been a small cross contamination if anything. The burger did taste great though! Most likely safe for gluten intolerant but I don’t think I’d eat there again as a celiac.
Staff is very aware of gluten allergies! I am celiac and I have had no issues eating here. You can even have a delicious bun and fries!
You will immediately see the line of people outside Ferg Burger because it's so popular but fret not, they offer all of their burgers with house made gluten free buns that are incredible! A must go when visiting Queenstown!
