Basically like in & out - dedicated fryer for French fries and protein style burgers (no gf buns) carefully assembled with gloves if you make clear you require gluten free. Delicious!

Requested GF burger, staff asked by preference or allergy. I stated allergy. Top of receipt says allergy. Cook was training someone and I heard her say- "I used to cry when these came in, (point to food ticket to show trainee 'allergy') she then says "now I just stop everything, wipe down my entire surface and get new utensils and make the burger." I had NO issues, and actually loved the fact I overheard that! Kudos @FiveGuys

They do a great job at changing gloves and preparing burgers on a different foil sheet. The fries are gluten free and you can get no bun or a lettuce wrap. I never get sick eating here.

We told the gentleman taking our order that our son was celiac, he added "allergy" to the order and then turned around and told the staff members. Every person changed gloves and I watched to ensure no cross contamination- and there was none. Super friendly and understanding staff, fantastic food and it was safe!

Just tell them you are celiac and they take every precaution needed. My only suggestion, ask for new condiments for anything that is used with a spreader (mayo) to avoid the cross contact with buns.

This is the first time I’ve been able to have a burger and fries since I went gluten free! No additives or fillers in the meat, lettuce wraps or bowls available, they’re careful about cross contamination, changed gloves, marked it as an allergy, and BOY it’s so good!!!! Fries are amazing too!!

Had a burger and fries here with my own bun. The manager came to the register and wrapped it in foil and packed my food separate from everyone else. I had no reaction at all. Plus it was delicious.

Staff was very responsive towards my request, I did have to explain which is totally normal, and the man taking my order had yelled out to everyone to clean their hands and change gloves which was very nice. Everything was great, I did have a small reaction but I think it was a cross contamination between my husbands and my food. Overall I’d love to eat there again 😀

Figured out why I got glutened here, they share the mayo spreader with the buns. Since then, when I order I remind them to use new mayo and I haven’t had a problem. They have also been very friendly and accommodating.

I only had the French fries. It took a long time to get them and I had to watch closely bc they didn’t seem to fully grasp (or care). I watched them cook it and they washed hands and did a glove change. I didn’t get sick.

I ate a lettuce wrap burger and some fries. They have a dedicated fryer. The staff called my burger and allergen burger. It came in a bag separate from my family. I wasn’t sick at all after...so I call that a win! Warning:Peanut oil used

Burgers are safe, fries are safe. Staff did not take adequate precautions to prevent cross contamination despite being told specifics such as change gloves, use clean flipper, etc.. I watched every step and had them make our order again.

just like other 5 guys restaurants, you can get gluten free here in a lettuce bun or box but i always prefer the box just in case. the same person served me and made my order with clean gloves!

I have eaten here twice, have gotten sick once and the time after I was fine. I saw them change their gloves which was helpful but was skeptical about cross contamination with placing foil on back bar with crumbs. Just be sure to let them know you are Celiac and to keep an eye out for their protocol!

They have always been prepared as soon as I say I want a bun less burger. They clarify if it's an allergy or preference. I see them educating their workers that aren't as aware of the process. They only have limited ingredients with gluten so cross contamination is less likely. Never been sick.

Thanks 5 Guys! Lots of gluten free options and toppings and the fries are gluten free in their own fryer. Knowledgeable staff in the kitchen. Will definitely be back.

The manager of this store is stellar. She took our order, labeled it ALLERGY, and told everyone else not to touch it. She prepared the order herself and seemed to be very knowledgeable about cross contamination. Five Guys is usually a good experience for us, and this was our first visit to this location. Given the care and attention paid to us, this will not be our last. They really made us feel comfortable with the food prep.

Excellent service. I am a sensitive celiac. Before ordering, I asked what precautions they take for a wheat/gluten allergy. The gal at the front was very knowledgeable. She assured me they are properly trained and that one employee would be in charge of my burger in a lettuce wrap. I watched him switch his gloves multiple times and take all proper precautions. No ill effects. They said the fries at this location are NOT gluten free.

Five Guys restaurant chain is always awesome and I have never gotten sick no matter the location. Huge bonus - you can est the fries! Fries are the only thing in their fryers so they are Gluten Free. You can order a burger either lettuce wrapped or unwrapped and add all your wanted toppings. When ordering tell them it is for a gluten allergy and they take it very seriously. They take all proper precautions to help minimize any cross contamination.

Eh. GF safe but just overpriced burgers or hot dogs with no buns at all under fluorescent lights. If you like a burger wrapped in lettuce or a hot dog on a paper plate then go for it. Not a good experience.

So far in Ocean City Maryland has been super hard to find someplace open that's gf this time of year. I highly recommend Five guys as they are gf at home in Pittsburgh PA also 😁💗

The burgers taste delicious and they’re attentive to allergy needs, but there’s no gluten-free bun and their lettuce isn’t a good substitution. If you’re fine with no bun (lettuce or otherwise) then it’s great - they also have really good fries.

Please be very careful at this Five Guys location if you have celiac. I have gotten sick here the last two times we ordered, despite stating that I had a "gluten allergy". The cashiers don't consistently note "allergy" on the ticket like at other locations, and even on orders where allergy has been properly noted, they don't consistently change gloves when moving between orders. More than serious cross contamination and allergy concerns, this location seems to be rougher than most Five Guys locations, which I typically love. They regularly get orders wrong and take upwards of 20 minutes for an order for two people.

They do not offer a gluten free bun but they will do a lettuce wrap. The fries are cooked in dedicates fryers and the workers changed their gloves on request. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because the workers don’t seem to be that knowledgeable at this location or just don’t care. I understand that at most fast food places the workers are teenagers just trying to make some money so I shouldn’t expect too much maturity but I would still like to be taken seriously. For example, one time when I tried to explain that I have Celiac the guy taking the order got annoyed and said I could of just said I need gluten free. I find that it’s important for people to understand that those with Celiac are not just on a fad diet but have a legit medical need to be gluten free. He also asked if this is something that is going to kill me today and I said no but I will have symptoms for a few days and I am at higher risk for cancer and other medical issues in the long run so he responded with, “Well if it’s in the long run only then that’s fine. I was going to have the guys prepare you food in a separate section but that’s not necessary.” The food is decent but I would just be extra vigilant and make sure they take your gluten free order seriously.

They have a dedicated fryer, they have separate areas for meat and buns, and they will change gloves. Five guys is considered safe in our area (Utah), so we decided to give this place a chance as we were driving through California. My celiac son just ordered the meat only (they can do it in lettuce, he just doesn’t like it. They do not have gf buns) and fries. He did not get sick

USE CAUTION! I ate there last night. The girl who took my order was aware of Celiac Disease and assured me they change gloves and use caution. I explained I get violently ill and for how long. She told the first person at their backbar/counter of my Disease (I hate to call it an allergy). As I rounded the counter I immediately noticed how their back bar was full of crumbs and knew I would have to watch them to ensure the crumbs did not touch my food. She put the aluminum down and the bowl on top of it as usual. Then another worker came over, pulled the foil out from under the bowl, flipped it over and waited on my patties And then wrapped the foil over my bowl. I knew this wouldn’t work because now BOTH sides of foil had touched the crumb backbar/counter. I told the manager that I couldn’t eat it and why. He threw it out and made me a new one. The worker that moved the foil then rolled his eyes, shrugged and threw his hands in the air. He clearly has no idea how this disease and cross contamination will affect a Celiac. A person I was with told him that was unacceptable behavior & that I get very ill. Then he yelled at her. Five Guys is generally so good about their practices but this just proves we have to be our own advocates.

I’m not celiac, just intolerant but only a couple of months into eating gluten free and having a difficult time with the lack of places I can find to eat. I was so happy when I went to Five Guys and sheepishly ordered a burger with no bun. The young man taking my order asked if it was a preference or an allergy, then asked if I wanted it in a bowl or lettuce wrapped! My day was made!! Then the young lady who gave me my food made sure to let me know my burger was in the separate plastic bag to keep it from contamination and that she made sure the fries weren’t touching my kids sandwiches either. I was so happy! They were so nice about it and actually seemed to know what’s to do!

They used to work really hard to keep cross-contamination to a minimum. They have stopped caring now. The last three times I have gone (yes I keep trying because I love their food stupid me, but not any more) I have watched them touch the buns and then touch the lettuce that I needed for my lettuce wrap. Twice I threw the food away. I should have thrown it away all three times.
