Safe! Five Guys is my go-to place internationally, and happy it’s in Coral Gables too. I test all my food with a portable gluten device and it’s always safe regardless of what location. They changed their gloves. Make sure you tell them “lettuce bun”, due to allergy. Delicious and such a simple option.

The employees I encountered at this location were extremely knowledgeable, kind, and careful. They had one person prepare my order from beginning to end.

I definitely do not feel the same way as the other reviewers. For one thing, the employees are completely ignorant about gluten-free and cross-contamination. I can see why as I have emailed the corporate headquarters and they never even bothered to get back to me. It's such a huge hassle when you say that you need someone to change their gloves and be careful not to touch any of the buns etc. My daughter has celiac disease and gluten-free is not a choice. I would rather take her to chipotle down the street then eat here.
Great burger bowl option for those of us that are gluten-free. It's the burger in a bowl with all the fixins but without the bun. The fries (regular and Cajun) are awesome.
Fantastic fries! Get them cajun flavored if you like spices. You can get a burger wrapped in lettuce and cheese to hold the other condiments.
They absolutely knew what they were doing when it comes to celiac disease! They have a dedicated fryer and the only thing that goes in it are the french fries that they cut and peel on site, no ingredients other than potatoes, salt, and oil. All of the bread is kept in a different area of the kitchen and the gluten-free bread is kept wrapped in packaging in a different area. They told me all of the options for making my meal gluten free which made this a great experience!

Management here is wonderful about training employees on allergen safety. On our last visit, we actually witnessed a new employee being trained on allergen procedures, and they were extremely diligent about preventing cross-contamination. I make sure to specify my “gluten allergy” and my item is clearly marked on my ticket. Bun alternatives include a burger bowl or lettuce wrap, and in my opinion they have mastered the lettuce wrap compared to other burger joints in the area (never falls apart, and an adequate amount of fresh crisp lettuce). French fries are the only thing they fry, and are fried in peanut oil. They’re also careful about packing my food separately from my non-GF husband. They are consistent and thorough, a great choice for a quick eat.

I told him I had a “gluten allergy” he yelled out to everyone to have it cooked separately and even bagged it separately from everyone else’s order

When we need a burger, we go here. A LOT. They don’t have GF buns but they’ll make any burger in a bowl, and they don’t use their fryers for anything other than French fries so no worries about cross contamination. Our Celiac kid loves it, hasn’t gotten sick from eating here even once.
