They absolutely knew what they were doing when it comes to celiac disease! They have a dedicated fryer and the only thing that goes in it are the french fries that they cut and peel on site, no ingredients other than potatoes, salt, and oil. All of the bread is kept in a different area of the kitchen and the gluten-free bread is kept wrapped in packaging in a different area. They told me all of the options for making my meal gluten free which made this a great experience!

Staff is super accommodating. Asked for my burger without a bun and asked if it was a preference or allergy. When I said allergy everyone changed gloves and cleaned all the surfaces down. One employee even reminded a newer employee not to touch any buns or he would have to change his gloves again. Gave me my food in a separate bag from my husbands regular burger.

they messed up our order multiple times in one order. they put my food in the same bag as my non gluten free family. and they didn't notify me that their cheese wasn't gluten-free. I will not be ever eating there again. hopefully their carelessness doesn't get me sick.
They were great, understood what I needed, wore gloves when they made my hamburger, even had a designated part of the grill for hamburgers to be cooked so there was no cross contamination. We'll definitely go back.
Yes
Heard rave reviews about five guys and their gf options. Went in and talked to the manager about cross contam and making sure everything was okay to eat. Not one person in the place had any idea what I was talking about. Needless to say we walked out and won't be returning.
Full of cross-contamination. I told them I have a sever gluten allergy and asked for clean spaces and changed gloves. They will change their gloves, but prepare on the same surface. I went there with a group from work and the woman preparing my food changed her gloves, but before changing her gloves her hands were all over the aluminum foil she used to package my food. Then, someone else who did not change his gloves packaged it, which included touching my food. There were even visible bread crumbs from past buns on the counter they were sliding my food along. Yes, there was aluminum foil between my food and the counter, but when they wrapped it up, something that looked suspiciously like a bread crumb made it on top of my food. I did not eat it.

My overall experience with five guys has been great. The staff at all places are kind and know how to take care of a food allergy.

Sensitive Celiac. I chose to go to this chain because of the information found on the corporate site. When I asked at the counter about gluten free food items, the staff was very uncertain. One guy said no gluten free food here and walked away. The manager came to speak with me. Even he seemed a bit unsure. After our discussion about ingredients, the dedicated fryer, and other concerns, I felt okay ordering. I decided to get burger toppings piled into a cardboard fry box with a burger on top. I also had an order of fries. It felt like Russian Roulette, but in the end, I had no adverse reactions. The guy preparing the burgers even changed his gloves. If you order carefully and communicate well, this particular Five Guys can do in a pinch.

We go there frequently. Dedicated fryer they only fry French fries. They cook only burgers on 1 flat top and buns on a completely separate flat top. No gfree bun, but had the best bunless burger I have had in a Long time, and Super awesome fries! I get sick at the drop if a hat within 30 minutes and have Never gotten sick here.
