Felt safe as a coeliac

Great steak, knowledgeable staff, and safe food. As soon as I said I couldn’t have gluten the host (not even our server!) crossed off the things on the menu that I couldn’t have, explaining why I couldn’t eat them (some of the sauces have flour, the pasta is pasta, etc). Fries are made in a dedicated fryer, nothing is cooked on the same surface as the steaks except steak. The server checked again with me about allergies and when the food came out they re-confirmed (without me asking) that it was gluten free. Nice vibe and affordable as well!

The vast majority of the menu at Flat Iron is naturally gluten-free. This is a meat-heavy menu, which is good for those who are dairy-free but probably not for vegetarians or vegans. The staff provide an allergen menu, which I check every time to ensure supplies haven't changed with their sides or sauces. No gluten-containing ingredients are used in the fryer, so the chips are safe to eat. The food here is consistently excellent, and it's reasonably priced. After dinner, everyone receives a token for a soft-serve ice cream, and they offer cups as an alternative to the cones. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and has a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Wonderful steak. The kale salad and fries were gluten free and delicious.

Everything is gluten free other than the mac&cheese and mash. They said the peppercorn sauce and wild mushroom sauce are gluten free but their ingredients carry a ‘may contain’ so they wouldn’t recommend for coeliac. Felt very safe and it was delicious

Steak and chips with a chilli mayo sauce. Peppercorn sauce is a may contain but I didn’t risk it, but staff read from an allergen sheet which he went to get, as he wasn’t sure, which was great! Lovely food. Could even eat the free ice cream at the end, in a little tub instead of a cone
