I ordered the spicy melt sandwich. It was on gf bread and absolutely delicious! I also had the Tuscan butternut squash soup and the gf brownie with salted caramel sauce. Owner/ chef is gf so very knowledgeable.

Excellent service! The server pointed out the gf items on the menu and also which dishes could be altered to become gf. Food was delicious! Do yourself a favor and try their gf biscuit and short rib appetizer.

I was a bit disappointed at first. After looking at the menu i got very excited they had so many GF options but when i arrived and starting asking questions they don’t have a dedicated fryer so a lot of the menu is gluten friendly and not celiac safe. So that was a bit of a bummer, but after i got over that the food that was celiac safe was delicious! Waiter was very knowledgeable about celiac and able to inform me of my options. Had GF biscuits that were amazing! (Can order just the biscuits!)

Food was eh. On the plus side, I had a great GF beer- Green’s Amber Ale. The salad dressing (rosemary Dijon) was also really good. The Cuban was underwhelming. It was served on Udi’s bread and didn’t really have much flavor. My hubby had the bahn mi (not gf) and it was OK, not amazing. Field pea soup was very good,. Overall, felt safe and didn’t get sick but food wasn’t that good.

This was one of the best restaurants I have been to. All of the food options are amazing and they are very understanding of celiacs. The only thing that isn’t celiac friendly is the fried food as it is not a dedicated fryer. The gluten free desert is also amazing and not the typical options.

Order wasn't accurate and had to be redone. Food was mediocre. They try to be too fancy and it was made of mostly pre-packaged food.

I was so excited to try food from The Floridian from my recent trip to St. Augustine and I was a little underwhelmed. We ordered delivery, and the orders were not received accurately which was a bit of a bummer. I tried the N’waffles, and it was good, but not 5 star worthy in my opinion. The biscuits were very good though!

We had the biscuit & belly as an app and it was amazing. Cooked perfectly and a prime piece of meat, not greasy either. The GF biscuits were excellent. Although dense, it was soft and had that buttermilk taste that brings you back to your youth. The bourbon peach, honey, and Moo’s cheese paired fairly nice. Well done, Floridian. For our main, we shared the shrimp tacos. Generous portion and superior taste. The shrimp had a delicious marinade that wasn’t over powered by the pickled watermelon rind, cilantro, red onion, and Datil sauce. Lastly, we had the brownie for dessert. It was moist and flavorful. Definitely would return. Zero negative reaction.

Wow. The reviews are spot on. Awesome place after a disastrous evening at the Columbian.
The muffin and belly is outstanding.
The Cuban sandwich? Wow. And GF beer!
We will certainly back for the great food, great service and cool atmosphere.
Thank you Floridian! You’ve restored our hope for humanity!
This is the second time we went to this restaurant and it still is very good. Very sensitive to gluten and had no reaction both times. Presentation is great as well! If you are in St Augustine I recommend you make this stop. It is great for gluten free/celiacs and non GF alike.
Yes
Great atmosphere, awesome food and service was outstanding. Highly recommend trying this place if you are Celiac. Did not get sick after sharing the biscuits and belly and spicy melt with blackened mahi.
Yes
We came here for lunch. We had the biscuits /pork belly and the bay of pigs sandwich. Both were great! We also had a gluten free dessert, chocolate, coconut and pecan bar. Would definitely come back
Yes
I’ve had the pleasure of eating here twice, now and the food is amazing with many celiac friendly options. I recommend the biscuits and belly. The staff is very knowledgeable about celiacs and are cautious. Again, the food, is divine. And they even have desserts!
Yes
The staff was very knowledgeable, GF options on the menu were clearly marked, flavor and options were amazing, and I felt safe eating here.
Yes
Fabulous lunch here. Hannah was very Celiac / gluten intolerant knowledgeable and had excellent recommendations. Owner/Chef is gluten intolerant and the menu and Staff knowledgeability and helpfulness reflect that. GF Bloody Marys, the shrimp ‘n grits was wonderful and taking 2 GF desserts home for later!! Hannah even packed the dessert whipped cream on ice for me. My friend who is not GF loved her Bay Of Pigs sandwich, too. We will definitely be back! My new favorite place.
Yes
Had a fantastic experience here! Both kids have celiac and both were perfectly fine afterwards. Wonderful food, neat atmosphere, and the people here at the restaurant just "get it" when it comes to gluten and cross contamination. Highly recommend!!
Yes
Amazing options, amazing good, and fantastic staff!
Not to many options on the menu but what I ordered was the absolute best sandwich. I ordered the spicy melt GF sandwich. It was not spicy to me but best fish sandwich I have ever had. I’m not kidding.
Shrimp and grits were good. Was dying to try the GF desserts but was too full. They are very aware and used to cooking for people with allergies.
Yes
The staff was knowledgeable and the food was good with interesting combinations but they DO NOT have a dedicated fryer as listed on FMGF.
Yes
Absolutely amazing food and staff. The chef has CD so they know the routine. I had the pulled pork over GF cornmeal waffles with candied blueberries and pecans. Incredible meal. Highly recommend.
Yes
Amazing! They had a plan for every and any allergy. They did whatever they could to make it safe. The food was really, really good. Beautiful presentation too!
Yes
Delicious, eclectic menu. Everything on the menu is labeled and many items need no alterations to make them GF. Truly unique dining experience.
Yes
Waitress was knowledgeable. Not a lot of options, but kitchen is willing to accommodate. Had the fresh catch, not breaded and grilled. It was outstanding & all the veggies were farm to table. Eclectic, fun atmosphere.
The Floridian was a wonderful restaurant with knowledgeable staff. I was the only gf eater in my family but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their lunch choices and remarked how they felt like they made better food choices. I had a citrus beet salad and added grilled shrimp and topped it off with a hard cider. We sat outside in an area shaded by a porch and lush vegetation. We will definitely be back!
Yes
Great foods and carefully prepared dishes!! Our son who is Celiac and it’s so hard to find the restaurant is understand of different between Gluten diet and Celiac!
Yes
Server was extremely knowledgeable. Food was so flavorful without any compromising my safety.
Yes
The best dinner! The Shrimp N Grits was amazing!!! I enjoyed the meal so much I would recommend this restaurant to all!!!
Best experience! They had so many options not available at other restaurants including gluten free amber ale and several ciders. We enjoyed he biscuits and belly as well as a delicious risotto style meal. They had three different gluten free options for desserts. The salted caramel chocolate brownie was enjoyed by everyone at the table. I am the only gf in the family and no one else noticed a difference. The taste and texture of everything was on point. The outdoor seating area was relaxing and quaint.
Yes
This place was amazing. Get the biscuit appetizer. Our server wasn’t great but we still had an awesome Gf meal.
Yes
My wife is gluten and dairy allergic and she loved this restaurant. Servers and cooks were very knowledgeable about food allergies. Will definitely be back the next time we visit from Ohio!
Yes
Amazing gluten free biscuit and pork belly!
My daughter and I ate there for lunch the other day and I wish this place was closer to home! They have gluten-free bread, so their sandwiches can easily be made GF and they even have a gluten-free biscuit!! Biscuits were one of the few things I was *sure* I'd never be able to have again after my celiac diagnosis... but holy cow, the pork belly on the biscuit was amazing and delicious. They list it on small plates, but I had it for my lunch and I was stuffed. Honestly, it was so good, you would never know it was GF. Next time I'm in town, this is definitely on my restaurant list!
Yes
My partner and I ate here while on a trip to Jacksonville, and we were blown away by the quality of the food and how careful they were of my celiac! The server was very knowledgeable and quickly pointed out the specials that were and were not celiac-friendly (no GF fryer meant even seemingly GF foods were off-limits), but that did not mean our menu felt limited! We arrived quite hungry and enjoyed many delicious and unusual Southern dishes, all GF - pickled shrimp, pork belly with GF biscuit (one of the best items on the menu for sure!), pulled pork and waffles (amazing - could not tell the waffle was GF, but it was!), and maque choux (similar to a corn and rice risotto - not quite traditional, but amazingly delicious). We were stuffed, but we took home two desserts for later, just because the food was amazing! Great service, amazing food, highly recommend!
Yes
Gluten free biscuit with Pork Belly available on the lunch menu. Such a good appetizer, I highly recommend! I was told they do not have a dedicated fryer but sandwiches can be subbed for gluten free bread.
Yes
A friend of my is sensitive to a lot of food and recommended we eat here. I am gluten sensitive and get sicker than my partner who is celiac. We had the waffles and pork, and the pork belly and biscuit. It was amazing! We did not get sick at all. Even walked around St. Augustine all day the next day because we felt good.
Yes
Delicious food with many GF options! The Cuban sandwich was amazing and the restaurant had a great Southern vibe.
If you have celiacs do not eat here!! I had high expectations from the reviews but a horrible experience. I got glutened BAD, my guess was from the server who thought something was GF that wasn’t (salad dressing? The special dessert? ). The menu is clearly marked so I’m not sure what happened but this is the worst glutening I have had in years! Also, I ordered my kids burgers medium and they came with the inside being completely raw. We sent it back but nothing so much as a heartfelt apology and no offer to comp the items. The place is cute and we had high expectations but others be forewarned!
No
Awesome! Good sized GF menu. GF desserts as well. Very knowledgeable staff.

We went to the Floridian one night and I was very pleased. I had pork and waffles and I couldn’t believe that the waffles were gluten free. They were delicious. We had a big group and it was pretty clouded so next time I’m going to definitely make a reservation. Overall good food and just make sure to reserve a table.
Yes
Absolutely delicious and creative menu, much of which if gf. Staff knowledgeable and happy to accommodate dietary needs. Had a fantastic meal here and will go again and again!
The Gluten-free menu was excellent and the staff were very knowledgeable in Celiac and Gluten-free issues. Excellent all the way around - we will be back!
Yes
We ate here twice while vacationing in St Augustine and couldn’t have enjoyed it more. The biscuits & belly, ‘n waffles, and shrimp & sausage dishes were to die for. Both waitresses we had were attentive and knowledgeable. I have a yeast allergy in addition to celiac and they were on top of it. Garden gimlet cocktail was great too!
Yes
We were informed the owner/ chef is Celiac. We had some very different and creative menu options. The Biscuits and belly was to die for. My non-GM has been absolutely loved it. We had the brisket tacos which were fantastic. They even had a gluten-free dessert to finish it off. We will go here every time we go to Saint Augustine! So many other things to try.
Yes
The menu is very interesting but the staff is very knowledgeable.
