Staff very knowledgeable. Fabulous atmosphere
Amazing! Almost everything can be made gluten free plus, they offer GF desserts!
Must-eat in St. Augustine! my wife and I shared biscuits and pork belly as an appetizer. If I ordered 4 of those for our whole meal, it would be 5 stars. Amazing flavor. Then, I had steak frites and she had shredded pork waffles. Both fantastic. We split the pecan bar for dessert and went home happy as hell. Thank you!
A wonderful place for celiac's. Chef is celiac so she knows our world. I even had a choice of yummy gluten free desserts. I highly recommend this restaurant.
this place has gf,vegan and vegetarian options so everyone can eat here....and it's super delicious!
Awesome service. My waitress was very knowledgeable about celiac and helped inform me what items had gluten in them! The menu clearly states gluten free options. I got the spicy melt minus the chipotle sauce bc it has wheat, the fish was amazing though!! the bread was soft but fell apart easily, but that's not unusual. I'd highly recommend this place, the prices aren't too bad either. :)
This place was amazing! I had the pork and waffles. My daughter had a grilled cheese on gluten free bread with a side of roasted potatoes. It was all delicious!
Many gluten free options. I had the waffles and pork. It was amazing. The waffle is more like cornbread, which I love. Knowledgeable staff and great service. Will be back.
A lot of their menu if gf. The staff was knowledgeable and the food was delicious!!
Fantastic experience at the Floridian. Lauren was an excellent waitress, very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was excellent. Four diners, two of which were gluten free both gf meals were great. Two non gf meals were enjoyed tremendously. Pulled pork and waffles was awesome. Wish I was staying longer in St. Augustine so I could come back. No stomach or intestinal trauma at all!!!
There were tons of GF options! I had a burger with no bun (they offer Udi's buns but I don't love those) and a side of potatoes. My boyfriend found a tiny fuz hair in his food but they didn't hesitate to take it off of our bill and offer us free GF desserts which were SO good! They had a caramel brownie and an oatmeal/chocolate/coconut bar. Overall a good experience and very flavorful food!
It was delicious - and so far so good for my daughter who is extremely sensitive. The only negative is that our server was very rude and impatient as we tried to ensure that the food would be safe for my daughter to eat.
Great restaurant! They have gluten free options clearly marked on the menu. Sandwiches have a GF bread option for $1 up charge. I had the first fish sandwich I have had in years. Server was very informed and let me know I couldn't have the mayo specified for my sandwich as it had gluten. But she provided me many other options as substitute. She also let me know the chips had been in a shared fryer so she would recommend the salad as my side. I never get this kind of service and understanding! Food was also amazing. definitely worth the trip
The food is delicious and there are so many Gf options. Great place.
Server was very knowledgeable and many GF options on menu. Non traditional flavors that paired amazingly. They have GF biscuits and waffles paired with pork and it was awesome!
I had high hopes for this place from the reviews and since they claim to have gluten free options. First of all they messed up 3/4 orders for my table and when we told the waitress she didn't even seem to care at all, she even was rude to us just for saying our orders weren't right and to make it worse for one of the orders they screwed up instead of getting a new burger they clearly just scraped off the mayo as you could still see it (she asked specifically no mayo when she ordered.. she could have had an allergy that's just pure laziness!). I tried to let the messing up most our orders, rudeness and the fact that the heater next to us outside wasn't working (it was nighttime) but to make all this the worst possible experience I got SEVERELY glutened when I TOLD THE WAITRESS I HAVE A GLUTEN ALLERGY and this place advertises to have gluten free options right on their menu I guess that's just for the fad and they're lying or my waitress was just that terrible because within an hour of leaving I was throwing up and it's the next night and I'm still in severe pain to the point I almost need to go to the ER. This is the most sick I've ever been from eating at a restaurant that claims to be gluten free and I was diagnosed with celiac 5 years ago. It's a serious shame I paid $40 (for two awful burgers, OVERPRICED!) to be stuck in the bathroom miserable all weekend. I do not recommend this place at all I am highly disappointed.
My favorite place to eat in St. augustine.
Gluten free options marked on their menu. Our server very knowledgeable about gluten. She also found out about my questions with soy. Food was delicious and flavorful. Service was excellent. Highly recommend this place.
Gluten free is done right here. The food is delicious and safe. The GF desserts are a must have. Will go again.
Wonderful experience here! Our server was very knowledgable about celiac and gluten allergies. I had the cornmeal waffle (dedicated waffle iron) with pulled pork and it was delicious! The gluten free salted caramel brownie was amazing! A bit pricey, but would go back again.
Best GF friendly restaurant in town! Great selection and awesome staff. Their GF bread is amazing! Recommend to all.
Absolutely delish! Very knowledgable about gf. Lots of delicious choices clearly marked on the menu.
Love the cornmeal waffle with pulled pork! Love that it is farm to table ingredients!
Had the pork belly for an appetizer and N'waffles for dinner. Out of this world and mouth watering desserts to boot!
My husband and I ate here last night. Great atmosphere. Food was delicious. We had the tacos and the winter salad. Best dining experience we've had in a long time. Very conscious of celiac needs. We felt normal!
over priced. but safe.
This was a little gem on a side street away from the more tourist trap restaurants. As a gluten free (celiac) customer, I was thrilled to see many GF items on the menu. The food looks prepared from scratch. I got the pimiento appetizer and BBQ brisket tacos which were both delicious. I wish more restaurants would follow suit and realize if they prepare more of their own food, a lot of items are already gluten free. A little creativity can add a lot to the menu that can be GF, rather than ordering a salad without the croutons. It can add cost to the menu, but most GF diners are used to it and willing to pay for it.
Loved this place, many wonderful Gluten Free choices that were quite tasty. Stopped in for lunch & decided we'd go back for dinner. Definitely will make this a destination on my next trip to St Augustine.
I had the Shrimp N Grits. The shrimp was cooked but not seasoned with anything so it tasted very bland. On the side, were two grit cakes, not your typical grits. They were good, but again maybe there could have been a delicious sauce or something to tie the shrimp with the grit cakes together to add some flavor.
Great food in a 'safe' environment with many choices. We had the tacos (brisket) and shrimp 'n grits. The grits were very good, the tacos were great! We also had the arepas as a starter, excellent as well. I would highly recommend the Floridian.
many gf options listed on menu, knowledgeable server, love the new location!
They moved to 72 Spanish St. Had same issue finding the place as woman stated below. FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL!! We got fried chicken and garlic mashed, short ribs, winter vegetable medley, fried cheese for app, and haven't eaten the GF brownie yet! Everything is SO GOOD. Great service, server was really sweet. Also, the atmosphere is kindof cool. All around a great experience! I would say that 75% of their menu is gluten free. Owner and the head chef are gluten sensitive so they use a lot of gluten free products. :)
Food is Fantastic!! They were out of the tacos😞 so went for the spicy mahi melt. Also had pimiento cheese fritters and hummus dips. Everything was presented beautifully and the atmosphere is very cute. Did have a hard time finding it since they moved though; new address is 72 Spanish St. Just a short walk from old location.
We have three Celiacs in the family. The staff and food were amazing! Our waiter communicated with the culinary team and we ended up with an EXCELLENT meal. Thank you! We felt so normal.
Hands Down, the best tacos I've ever had! (BBQ brisket). I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. Gluten free items clearly marked on the menu. They have gf bread. Tacos are a must try though. They can be made with Tempeh is you are vegetarian. They have gf deserts too but I didn't try them.
I had the BBQ tacos and chocolate brownie with salted caramel for dessert! excellent! the tacos had fresh cut apple and was an ingenious combination!
Excellent mahimahi melt on GF bread. Service was great
******Do not go here if you have Celiacs****** I was fooled by the previous reviews and went for lunch. Besides salad they had maybe 5 things on their menu that were GF. However half of those items had gluten on them. There is no dedicated fryer. The bread is UDIs. I had to ask the waitress, who was very frustrated with my gluten allergy, if they could pan fry my Fried Green Tomato sandwich. She said she had to check and did not come back for 30 minutes with the food.I got glutened...not really surprising though after the way we were treated. Don't believe the good reviews below if you have a severe allergy, it's not worth getting sick there.
Nice selection of menu items with lots of options. Soup of the day is advertised to be gluten free and sounded good - carrot, tomato, lemongrass bisque. I was not that hungry so passed on it. My child had a gf grilled cheese with apples (could have had carrots). I had a chipwich sandwich with mahi mahi, arugula, basil, special mayo, potato chips, and tomatoes. Yum. Hubby had a really unique salad with a fried green tomato and fish. Service was a little slow and the wait was 40 min but hey - it was New Year's Day. We sat on the patio - great atmosphere and during our wait we walked around the neighborhood where there were great shops and lots of people watching.
It's a $1.00 more for gluten free bread! The desert (salted Carmel brownie) amazing!
What a find! Cute little place featuring Southern delights using local ingredients. I had an amazing GF fried green tomato sandwich with cilantro mayo and a delicious tangy slaw. Server was super helpful and confirmed everything with kitchen before placing my order - only mods needed were pan frying the tomatoes to avoid shared fryer, and GF bread of course. Will be returning every time we visit St. Augustine!
Absolutely amazing for GF. They care! They are very aware of Celiac and gluten intolerance! Get the GF Fried Green Tomatoes! Wow! Our new favorite place when coming to St. Augustine! Not to mention they saved the day that Yard Bird Cafe almost ruined!
Food was good. Atmosphere was pleasant. Staff understood my GF issues.
Great food here that is some of the best tasting gf food in the city. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing desserts.
Best veggie burger and amazing pecan bars!
Definitely won't ever eat here again. Paid $27 and waited 45 minutes for a chicken sandwich on gf free bread that came out with hard inedible bread, and chicken piled on top of said bread. Not a "sandwich" at all. Not only that but the chicken was awful... spongy and rubbery? I don't even know how to describe it. The non-gf sandwich my partner ordered came out just as bad, loaded with mayo. We honestly couldn't even eat it. $30 in the trash. You don't wanna waste your time.
This was surprisingly delicious. I had the Shrimp and grits. But, it was unlike any I've had before. The shrimp was dressed in a creamy remolaude sauce over Polenta cakes with grilled onions, fresh corn, red pepper and feta cheese drizzled over it. I wanted to lick my plate clean!
Gluten Free Quiche. Gluten Free Muffins, Gluten free biscuits
Love, love, love! This is our new local favorite... fresh delicious food, clearly labeled GF items and fun little outdoor seating.
FANTASTIC!! Very delicious! Our waitress is gluten free which is great! The Elkin salad was amazing! It even had a GF fried green tomato with it. Yum! Oh and the GF chocolate coconut pecan bar with home whipped cream was heavenly! The place is small but very cute. Super busy when we were there at 5:30. No one seemed to mind waiting the 45-60 min wait & we know why, so worth the wait!
