I came here for lunch and had the gaucho lunch, which is just the market table and feijoada bar without all the carved meats. I asked if they had an allergen menu and the waitress brought me a several page print out of their allergy table for everything they serve - super helpful! It was an amazing spread and I was able to eat almost everything, which was wonderful (and so refreshing!).
This was a great experience. So often restaurants with a particular ‘experience’ to them (ex. Hibachi, hot pot, etc) are not GF safe, so it was really fun to eat here.
All of the proteins are gf. The only non-gf menu items are the baguette style bread at the salad bar and one of the salads had croutons. The cheesy bread that is brought to the table is GF. There is a large dessert menu, but I did not ask if any are gluten free.
The wait staff is very knowledgeable and kind. I would definitely go back!
So many options! A huge buffet of salads and meats - all GF. Then all the meat you can eat, all GF. The yummy rolls brought to the table - yep GF! My celiac son was in heaven, no limits. No good dessert options since he also doesn’t eat dairy but dinner was so good and he was so full he didn’t mind.
Such a great experience! Our server was also gluten free and happy to provide answers to my questions. While others have noted some of the meats were not gf, she assured me that they changed from marinating in beer and now everything is gf! The service was amazing and I indulged in so many options! Including a beautiful flan for dessert.
10/19: ate here again and had a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!
This was our favorite restaurant on our recent trip to DC. We actually ate there twice. It is expensive but worth every penny. Since we are GF and DF there were only 3 meats we could not have: crusted pork loin, chicken legs, and the sausage. There were probably at least 10 other meats we could eat and they were so delicious. They also brought out polenta with no parmesan on it for us. And they walked us through the salad buffet and explained what was safe and what was not safe. You will definitely be stuffed and really enjoy your experience - highly recommend.
Only 3 dinner items - French bread (kept at a side table separate from the salad bar) and chicken legs & pork sausage (both prepared in a separate area in the kitchen) - contain gluten! It was a great discovery since my family loved this restaurant pre-diagnosis. A number of desserts have gluten, but there’s never room for dessert anyway. If you’re looking for something sweet and still have room, order the caramelized bananas. Knowledge staff, yummy food, no reaction.
Almost everything gluten free The only thing containing gluten is French bread which was separated from the buffet and therefore not high risk of cross-contamination. My daughter did not have any reactions and his supersensitive. The salad bar lunch is a great deal $15 for a beautiful salad buffet. If you choose to have the meat courses be prepared for an expensive meal. My son did say he thought it was the best meat he ever had. Cheese bread so good
I had an excellent meal last night! The salad bar is unreal in the offerings they have (cheeses, smoked salmon, beautiful vegetables, olives...I could go on) & most everything is GF. They have some crackers or bread or something off to the side that isn't GF but I didn't even pay attention to that because I was in salad bar heaven. The meats were great too. They clearly stated that the only meats that aren't GF are the chicken legs and the sausage, which they serve together, so there wasn't worry of contamination. But, I gotta say my favorite part of the meal was the naturally gluten free Paõ De Queijo (cheese bread!!) that they have at the table. I ate 5, during a business dinner, and I'm not even sorry. I definitely plan on going back!
There's only 2 things that aren't gluten free, it's a great restaurant and celiac friendly
This is a great stop for dinner!! There are more items to eat then not for a Celiac like myself! The salad bar was fresh and delicious, but that is not all! The cheese rolls and plantains weRe awesome!! I could eat twenty of these rolls. I loved all the beef served at the table as well. Feel free to openly mention that you cannot have gluten and they will tell you what you cannot eat. Enjoy:)
A manager will come to speak to you about the GF options, but it's almost unnecessary because everything but the obvious breads and 3/12 or so meats is gluten free. And did I mention the GF cheesy bread? It's pricey, but 100% worth every penny for the amazing selection!
Probably the best meal I've ever had. Most options are gluten free, many are dairy too. They were extremely accommodating, serving my table's polenta fries without the parmesan and walking us through the gluten and dairy free meats. It was expensive, but it was 100% worth it. It is all-you-can eat and very high quality.
My family and I loved this place. I was pleasantly surprised when a server explained to me only a few items there are not gluten free. He was very knowledgable and told me every item that I could not eat. 1st time since I went gluten free that I didn't worry while eating out. Food was amazing and service was top notch. Perfect dining experience
Most awesome meal since becoming gluten free. We were touring Washington DC and looking for someplace to eat dinner. My husband was reluctant because of price range, but after eating said it was fantastic and he would recommend it. I loved that most of the food they serve is gf and I wasn't limited to a very few menu choices.
Highly recommend. All of their entrees are gf with the exception of the chicken wings and sausage, they are marinated in beer, but they serve then together so they don't get cross contaminated. Most of the salad bar is gf if you ask they can point out what isn't. And my favorite part, all of the appetizers that are included in the meal are gf, even the rolls (which are delicious)! Love this place!
Very expensive (about $70 per person) but very good, especially if you are a meat eater!! Plus it was right beside our hotel (Residence Inn) so didn’t have to pay for a taxi or walk. The waiter was knowledgeable and although the menu didn’t give hints he brought me a separate allergens menu. I couldn’t photograph, it was very long and the lighting didn’t work for those shots! It had an extensive salad / appetizer bar and when we were done with that and ready for meat we flipped a little card to say so. I ate polenta (which was fried in strips like very fat French fries), puffy balls of cheeses bread made of a GF flour, and bananas. Just can’t remember about the mashed potatoes! Was able to eat most of the meats (not sausage, and I think not chicken but they didn’t even bring either of those that night), and they returned with more of the ones we especially liked (plain types of beef). We went early, about 4, so we could make a 7pm Bellagio show. Didn’t expect to have to wait so went without a reservation - did have to wait just a bit. Make a reservation!
Great food. The GF items are not identified on the menu. The waitress had some trouble remembering what was GF, but she went and asked. They have yucca rolls and fries which are GF. Meats are GF. The sides are served buffet style, but it’s mostly fresh vegetables, cheese, deli meats, or vegetable dishes. I didn’t try the soups because they were not labeled. They do have vegan and vegetarian labels. Really good food; just wish things were labeled better. I did not have a reaction.
This place is great and knowledgeable about gluten free items! One thing I did have a problem with, my partner and I I both had our “yes” cards out for whatever meat may come. My partner said yes to a meat for their plate, and as I was about to ask what it was and my partner was looking through the GF menu…and the server dropped the meat on my plate without waiting for me or my partner to communicate. It ended up that the sauce on the meat WAS GF (luckily bc it landed on all my other food) but that was all that went wrong. Just keep an eye out :)
