Review of Franks on 1st

I'm not from Chicago or familiar with the "typical Chicago" dogs and burgers that I've heard about on the Food Network, but since Franks is next to Sweet Ali's (all GF bakery), I decided to give it a try. Franks uses Sweet Ali's buns. They have a huge menu for dogs, burgers not as much. But letting them know you need GF and they will take care of you. The burgers are fat and juicy and work well with the bun. They have a single, double, and triple, all quarter pounders, but they are fat, not thin, so having a double means you need to disconnect your jaws to take a bite. Their dogs are great and have that snap when you take a bite. Things get a bit messy when you have a lot of stuff on the dog, but it will be worth it, especially on those great buns from next door. They have a dedicated fryer for fries that are hand cut. The owners are really nice people and do a great job in serving their customers. I've enjoyed Franks three times and will probably make it a fourth time before heading back home. If you are in the area, go to Franks. And take time to drive through Hinsdale. It's a cute little village with some really classy homes!
