We were in NYC for a long weekend and very happy to find this really great restaurant with a large Gluten Free menu. We found it on Find Me Gluten Free and the fact that they had a large banner sign with "Gluten Free" on it right near the door encouraged us to give it a try. Most of the menu items are already made with Gluten Free ingredients and the staff is very knowledgeable about GF options and Celiac Disease. We stopped in for a late dinerr after a show and didn't realize it was near their closing time. The staff was welcoming, made us a great meal, and didn't rush us. We'll be back next time we're in town. I wish we had found it sooner so we could have stopped in for brunch. The Brunch menu has an amazing selection of Gluten Free options.
We had the most amazing meal here. If your in NYC and gluten free do not miss this restaurant. My son and I are both celiac and they accommodated us without a blink. The friend pickles were delicious. I also loved the pastrami Ruben. The bread was delicious.
I had the kale salad with salmon, which was delicious and just the right size. No reactions afterwards. The server said they can make all but a few items gluten free, so there are lots of choices. It’s also right across the street from the Richard Rodgers theater, so a great choice for dinner before a show!
Since being in New York we have enjoyed 2 meals here safely with almost all of the menu being gluten free. As 3 of my family have celiac we all felt safe and happy eating here & the food was really good . Would definitely recommend a visit
Great food! According to the waiter all apps, entrees, and desserts are gluten free. They only say “can be made gluten free” because of the stigma that non-gf people may not want to eat gf food. Sandwiches and burgers can be made gluten free. As a result, anything on the menu is fair game! I’m very sensitive and didn’t feel any symptoms.
Fantastic gluten free menu right near Times Square! We had the fried chicken and cheddar waffles and I was elated to have gluten free fried chicken and waffles. The wait staff was very friendly and 95% of their menu uses gf ingredients. Our meal and dessert came out with a gluten free flag to indicate it was GF. You MUST have the gf key lime pie as the crust is homemade!
Dedicated gf fryer. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and can do nearly every dish gf without risk of cross-contamination. One of the owners is celiac so they are very conscious of gluten. Have eaten both at the restaurant and gotten takeout/delivery several times.
This is a great option for safe gluten free food. When I went to place my order and said I have a gluten allergy, the waiter said “you’re in the right place.” Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free, and it’s awesome to have so many options. The gluten free food even comes to you with a flag on it to mark it! I definitely recommend eating here!
I love the Korean chicken wings. Totally satisfied the Celiac-safe bar food crave. Also had the smashed avocado with plantains which was fabulous. Went with a friend who eats gluten, and she liked the place too. Can’t beat the location when going to a play.
The menu is 99% gluten free. We’re talking anything... pies, sandwiches, fried chicken, even fancy lemon ricotta pancakes. And everyone from the hostess to the waiter was super knowledgeable and friendly. We walked in on a whim and had such a great experience. Could not ask for more. Thank you!
Generally we eat at the friedmans in Chelsea. So this was our first time eating here. Staff is very knowledgeable, polite and friendly . Very knowledgeable of gluten-free My daughter had the gf fried chicken. Which is a favorite of ours and as always was delicious. My husband had the grilled cheese sandwich and soup with broccoli rabe. A sandwich was blah and tasteless. The soup was great. My other daughter and I had the fish tacos. Which were also blah and tasteless and sorta fishy. So only one out of four meals actually tasted good. Not great for the price either.
Can I give more than 5 stars? This place is amazing! Servers are 100% knowledgeable about gluten free and most importantly, concern for cross contamination! The very first thing the servers ask is if there are any allergies. Everything on the menu can be made gluten free, with the exception of the matzo ball soup. I never thought I would be able to eat fried pickles, or chicken and waffles...heavenly! The waffle is so light and fluffy with a nice crisp outside, yum! I also had a club sandwich, which no exaggeration, had over 1" of fresh sliced turkey on it. Loved it so much, we went back before we left! Cannot recommend this place enough!!
Went and got the chicken and waffles based on the other reviews, and wow does it not disappoint. Not only was the food fantastic, but the staff was very knowledgeable, and the food came with a little gluten free sign. I felt very safe eating there. Going again tonight!
Traveling with my 15 year old celiac son to NYC. It was absolutely fortuitous that we just happened to stay at the Hotel Edison with this amazingly celiac friendly restaurant in the hotel. We expected the trip to be difficult and has prepared with the usual gf bars, but instead my son got totally safe waffles, fried chicken, burgers, fries, onion rings. (And they had great salads for me!) They have a dedicated fryer and are committed to making 99% of the menu gluten free. This restaurant truly made our trip great!
