Gelato Messina

Asked about gluten free flavours and were provided with a list of allergens for each individual flavour and were informed that of course like any other non gf dedicated venue that they couldn’t provide us with a guarantee of no cross contamination. However, the worker went out of her way to go out the back to open a fresh tub of the flavour and served the gf flavour prior to the rest of the family’s order.

Unfortunately Messina cannot guarantee that any of their flavours are completely gluten free, even the sorbets. The staff member was very informative however about this, and it seems if you’re not too sensitive to gluten you’ll be fine, but he said if you’re severely sensitive he wouldn’t recommend having any. As while many of the sorbets and some of the gelatos do not contain gluten ingredients, they’re still made at the same location involving gluten ingredients. Bit disappointing but at least they were clear. They also have a sign on the wall that says the same thing.

Great gelato. They have a menu with GF options listed. They are happy to go out the back and take the gelato from there with a fresh scoop.

Fantastic gluten free options and contamination awareness, tell them you’re coeliac and they will get a clean scoop and get your gelato from tub out the back

Was told by their staff that their gelatos are all processed in the same machine, so even though there are several GF options that there is risk of cross contamination. Watched my whole family happily eat, but I did not order.
