Updated review: As far as I know, I have not had ill effects from eating here; however, I will not be back. I was there the other day and super excited to get gf treats after eating. I watched my waitress grab someone else's food with bare hands (bread loaves, cookies, etc.). The other customer also asked to double check if it was all gf and the waitress said it is. The waitress then went to put gloves on for my desserts, while touching the outsides of the gloves anyway... I said I was too full and changed my mind. The owner was standing right behind her as she did this and I was surprised the other customer and the owner said nothing. Previous review: This place had great mozzarella sticks, chicken parm, and a whole bunch of delicious desserts!

This place is amazing. ALL baked goods are gluten free and delicious! GF calamari and eggplant parm (which can be served without the cheese and is still amazing!) are my favorites!! Garlic bread is really good too.

This authentic Italian restaurant offers the entire menu gluten-free and has an all gluten-free bakery. It is an absolutely phenomenal place where you will feel welcome and free to eat whatever you have a taste for.

This place is AWESOME. HUGE gluten free menu and for all those Celiac's out there they have dedicated mother fn fryers y'all . And they have 2 entire dessert counters FULL of gf desserts. I just hate that they aren't closer to center City. PLEASE COME TO WEST OR SOUTH PHILLY. We need you over here!!!

OMG!!! THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD!!!! My husband ordered a regular pizza (said it tasted even BETTER on the second day) and I got linguine in clam sauce. I haven't had it in YEARS and thanks to Grandma's Grotto...I had no pains. And the desserts (ALL gluten free!)? I came home with almost $10 of goodies! The best thing? The strawberries and cream cupcake. I'm still dreaming about it. Ha! We'll definitely be back soon

Very good. When you walk in they ask if anyone would like a gluten free menu. Good start. Then they bring out GF toasty bread for gf people (with ice cold butter unfortunately). I got the very tasty chicken parm and if you ask they will give you a different sauce on your pasta (so I could try something else). I tasted the GF cannoli whose shell was more of an anise cookie, but it wasn’t bad and the filling was pretty good.

If you love Italian and you are celiac, look no further. They make all the favorites and it's all gluten free. They know what they are doing with zero chances of cross contamination. I love everything but I highly recommend the mozzarella sticks, chicken parm, and raviolis. BYOB and friendly owners. Little $ but it 100% worth it!

Kind of expensive. The mozzarella sticks were delicious. We also got a cheesesteak pizza, which the crust was pretty good but the sauce & steak had ZERO flavor. Definitely celiac friendly, but again... the flavor just wasn’t there.

Food was delicious and my husband loved it. They get 4 stars for being knowledgeable and having tasty food that was Celiac friendly. I ordered penne with chicken and vodka sauce. The sauce was delicious but resembled Mac n cheese more than vodka sauce. My husband had veal parmesan and said it was probably the best he haf. I'm glad they offer baked goods but they were gritty and hard. Needs work.

Very knowledgable about Celiac Disease! All Gluten free items are made in a separate area of the kitchen, they have designated fryers. All bake goods are gluten free. They make their own gluten free bread, bread crumbs and croutons. They are certified Gluten-free and have many menu options. All gluten free means are served on a square plate, so remember when celebrating with a large party circle plates are not friendly for gluten free. Make sure waitress and waiters know who is gluten free. We had the most delicious gluten free pizza today. Definitely worth the time and drive. Old World Italian being gluten free awareness!

We have visited a couple times and never had an issue. We visited this week and I got sick after. I'm assuming someone didn't pay attention in the kitchen and I got cross contaminated. I know it's a chance anywhere but wanted to share since they are usually so good about it. Unfortunately they've lost a customer in my family to it.

Love this place. I had the pizza which was phenomenal. All of their desserts are gluten free which is pretty awesome. Rare find!!! I had to update my review because I had initially ordered take out but I are there Saturday night. Food is still great and extensive menu. However the service was terrible. I will not eat in again, but will definitely continue getting take out.

It's amazing that they have so many gf options and the baked goods are great. But we've been there twice and the food is just OK and the service has been terrible - really long waits, forgetting things like salads, wrong items bought. Thankfully there are an increasing array of gf options out there so Grandma's needs to pick up their game.

Stopped in due to the reviews online about the bakery. There were minimal bakery items which were GF, some good some not so good. The mozzarella sticks were very thick with the GF breading and the pizza was a frozen dough that was comparable to carnival pizza. I wouldn't go back. The owner was very nice though which makes it a shame.

I have been here several times with my family and everyone has always had a great meal with plenty of gluten free options. Their entire dessert case is gluten free and they usually have a stock of frozen gluten free things (e.g. Mozzarella sticks, chicken parm, cakes, etc) you can also buy.

UPDATE: I ate here over the summer. I ordered the gf chicken Parmesan and my husband ordered the regular veal Parmesan. The waitress gave my gf dish to my husband and gave me his non gf dish. I realized after two bites and brought it to the waitress' attention. I was very upset because I knew I would get sick. She just switched our plates and said everything would be fine. I felt ill for a few days. I will probably not go here again. So sad because I really liked it. 😢 I've eaten here twice and have enjoyed my meal both times. The chicken parm tasted like the good old chicken parm I remember from before I had to go gluten free. All of their desserts are GF. My 12 year old son got some of their chocolate chip cookies and kept saying they tasted too good to be gluten free!

Be Cautious: I have celiac and the last few times I ate here I got sick after. Another person with celiac I know said the same thing. It's so sad because I used to rely on this place for some of my favorite foods that I cannot get GF in the area. It's just not worth risking it anymore. If your not super-sensitive, you may be okay and willing to risk.
