Okay hotel - doesn’t seem to be many gluten free options.
I ate at woodfire grill it was absolutely amazing! I have come back so many times and I even ate here when I wasn’t even staying at the resort, it’s that good! I had talked to the chef and she made me fried chicken and waffels, Which i haven’t had in forever! So so good!
Wood FireGrill menu has just recently changed and it is not the corporate menu with allergenns marked. Chef on duty is super helpful and can whip you up something despite this. I have gluten/dairy allergies and chef prepped me a rib plate with steamed veggies and a baked potato. No issues.
What a celiac friendly place! The chef from the buffet came and spoke with us every morning asking our 7yo what she would like for breakfast: pancakes, waffles, French toast, bagels, muffins, etc... At dinner, the executive chef Hany came out and spoke with us for at least 10 minutes. He literally said, “what do you want? I will make it for you!” She ended up choosing chicken fingers, butter noodles and cake! The food area inside of the water park was less informed and gave my husband and myself different answers. So we didn’t want to trust that. So we just ordered chicken tenders from the restaurant and brought them into the water park (this was actually cheaper). It was really nice for us to “go out to eat” and not worry!
We ate at the Lodge Wood Fired Grill. The staff was knowledgeable about celiac. The menu was clearly marked. The chef come talk to us about options including dairy free also. They don’t have any gluten in there fryer so you are able to have fries, sweet potato fries. Anything breaded like chicken fingers calamari is breaded with rice flour. They have gluten free buns available ( they do have seeds on them and soy) they brought me a copy of the ingredients so I could confirm they were also dairy free. Kids meal choices burger, ground beef tacos, chicken fingers all served with fruit and choice of fries or veggie sticks. I had a grilled chicken served over spinach and sweet potato fries. It was a large portion and tested gluten free with Nima. The food isn’t cheap but it was not as pricey as other resort prices the portion size was large. Kids meals $9, Adult Burger w/fries $14, Grilled Chicken Plate $17. We thought the prices were good for being in a resort, good portion sizes and tasted great. The Brussels with bacon were excellent.
Ordered a pizza from the pizza place on site. They listed the ingredients of the GF crust as soon as I asked about it. It was very stereotypical cardboardy gf pizza, BUT! It was safe. And for most of us, it’s about the toppings anyway. They did a glove change and I didn’t get sick.
Stayed here for the weekend and the restaurant downstairs (fo get the name) took my children’s Celiac very seriously. The chef came out and spoke with us personally. The chicken strips were prepared in rice flower and nothing gluten ever goes in the fryer so my kids were able to have French fries! It was a wonderful, wonderful experience.
My wife has Celiac and this place is a hidden gym we stumbled upon. My wife and I ate At the Lodge Wood Fired Grill. She had the gluten free calamari and several other delicious gluten free items on the menu. There were a lot of options from gluten free fish and steak and the chef came to our table to discuss with my wife her allergen and ensure the dishes were gluten free. For breakfast there was gluten free pancakes, etc. it was delicious.
Head & Executive Chefs as well as wait staff took impeccable care of my daughter (Celiac) during our stay. In the Lodge & Loose Moose Family Kitchen, staff went the extra mile to provide safe GF alternatives--pancakes, chicken tenders, fries, pasta, you name it. Fryer only fries GF items. We had the Thanksgiving Buffet upstairs in the ballroom. The Executive chef personally took my daughter & I around showing her options. Waffles (turkey & waffles) were GF and best she's ever had. He brought turkey, cheese & fruit from the kitchen. Other items could easily have been brought from kitchen but she wasn't interested. Only thing lacking was dessert; no options but she was so stuffed that it didn't matter. We'll be back!
