DO NOT GO HERE. This business no longer offers GF in any form. Went there for breakfast as the Red Spire had too long of a wait. All staff here told me no prep space, no precautions, and no GF exceptions.

I’ve been here before many times and was able to get a really good GF sandwich prepared in a dedicated space. However, I came today and when I went to order I found out they had totally removed a GF bread option off their menu. They still had some soups labelled GF on their board but not much else. I was looking forward to this but I won’t be coming back after today, yikes! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

They have gf bread and if you tell the waiter, they'll make sure to cook everything separate. Food is decent. I mean, it's a little diner deli lunch place so even non-gf people shouldn't expect filet mignon, but it wasn't bad. First time I've had a club sandwich in a long time. Can normal people actually eat triple decker sandwiches normally? Do I just have a small mouth? Anyway, if you're looking for a quick bite, this is a good place.

Ate there on Monday for lunch. We were very pleased with the food. It was so nice to be able to eat out where they actually understand what is celiac disease. At least most of the staff seemed to understand. And of course the owner was very knowledgable since his sister in law also suffers from this awful disease. I say most of the staff and only gave this soup/sandwich shop 4 stars because of our actual waitress who, after being told I had celiac disease and couldn't have anything with gluten or wheat, still asked me if I wanted crackers or bread with my GF vegetable soup (which by the way was outstanding!). She was not very attentive to us. I understand being a busy server, they were busy, but not crazy busy....she spent quite a few minutes conversing with the table next to ours. Funny thing though, it wasn't her table. Hmmmm. Asked her for just one thing when she served us .... but she never did bring us the yellow mustard for my Reuben sandwich on GF bread (OMG also outstanding-cherry sauerkraut was delish!) or my husband's burger (very tasty according to him) You know what they say, hard to get good help sometimes. If we are ever up there again I would go back but would ask for a different waitress if we got her again. *Young lady who greeted us and answered questions and concerns before we sat down=A+ *Owner who assured us of safety of food, his knowledge and for having a cute place with really good food=A+ *Server who waited on us=D *Server who got us the yellow mustard finally=A

The waitstaff was super friendly and really understood how important it was that I receive gluten free food. They advertise gluten free buns, but they also have wraps if you order a half sandwich since they can't cut gluten free buns in half. They also had three gluten free soups available when I was there, including some delicious chili. This restaurant has become a favorite of mine, and I can't wait to go again!

I don't know what to say about this place. I couldn't tell if our bad service was due to being gluten free or an ethnic minority. Either way we had a bad experience. It started with me saying that we needed gluten free meals and to please let me know if I ordered something with gluten from it. The somewhat surly waitress snapped that she had no idea what was gluten free and what wasn't. I patiently explained it was wheat, oats, barley and rye. Also if anything was prepared on surface that those were prepared on. She then snapped something about people asking her if cheese was gluten free. I, meanwhile, was frantically trying to recall the reviews, wondering if I made a mistake coming here. But I knew I had only selected restaurants with the best ratings from this site so decided to go ahead and order scrambled eggs, gluten free toast and potatoes. I later added bacon to the order. In the mean time every time we needed to get her attention we had to flag her down because she studiously avoided eye contact in this very small, narrow restaurant where she had to walk down the center many times, all trying to now look our way when we were trying to get her attention. To top it off she tried to charge us for 4 meals instead of 3 which I think she did on purpose as when I went to bring it to her attention she knew what I was talking about before I even said anything. Based on her attitude toward us it felt like she had done it on purpose to see if we would not notice and pay anyways. 2 of our 3 thought it was dining while not white and I thought it was some sort of issue with gluten free diners. Either way it ruined our meal and impression of the restaurant.

I got A GF wrap and it was delicious. It was so soft and held up well enough that I was suspicious that it was not GF. Lots of other GF items on the menu as well.

We love to vacation in the Traverse City area and always make a point to stop at least once at the Green House Cafe for breakfast (parking is out back and you have to pay for the parking meter but it's not really a big deal). They have wonderful omelettes with gluten free multi-grain toast offered. The coffee comes with flavored creamers which I always love.

They have a list of gluten free soups they offer every day, gluten free buns, bread, and wraps for their sandwiches! I ordered a club sandwich, which they toasted with gluten free bread on a separate toaster. The bread was really good and the sandwich was a great size! They were very understanding and I had no problems at all!
