We went here for a family dinner. When I was first sat by the host (or manager) I explained I have celiac and asked if the gluten free pasta was cooked separately. I was told it was.

Next, when our server came to the table, I immediately told him that I have celiac, which is like a gluten allergy. I ordered from the gluten free menu and asked specifically for the waiter to inform the kitchen that i need gluten free for an allergy, not a preference.

When the food came to the table, the server asked the food runner which pasta was the gluten free one. The food runner told him and then the waiter gave me the supposedly gluten free one.

I started eating my “gluten free” pasta but when my husband’s meal came out, I noticed his regular penne looked exactly like mine (while the other pasta on the table looked different). I asked the waiter to please confirm. He went back in the kitchen and came back to tell me that they had served me the pasta with gluten and my child the gluten free pasta (my kid doesn’t have celiac and was supposed to have the regular kind).

So, we have probably all had this happen, unfortunately, at some point. It is brutal to know that you are going to pay the price (in symptoms) for weeks to come for someone’s completely avoidable mistake. But then there’s also how they handle it in the aftermath.

No manager came to our table. The waiter apologized but then basically hid from us for the rest of the meal. Then the bill came. They had not charged for the side of pasta and for a dessert, but HAD charged for my meal and for everything else. No assurance from anyone that this never happens, or that they would be looking into it, or setting up new safety procedures…. Nothing.

TL;DR They will serve you gluten while telling you it’s gluten free and then take no accountability. Don’t eat here.
