Not good. Definitely not gluten friendly as they share the same equipment, not to mention they use the same cuter for all of the pizzas. I was not impressed with the food at all, it was very dry and bland. For the price they charged, I expected better pizza. Well lesson learned. I will be paying for the gluten for the next week.
For the casual or preferential G-Free folks: this is probably a can-do eatery. For Celiac - No Way.
We tried this establishment based on past reviews. When speaking to management, we were told that they “definitely could not guarantee no cross contamination. “
As we were hearing this, we got a look in the kitchen. Chefs were hand-tossing pizza crusts, and you could see slow-floating airborne particulates. Additionally, kitchen staff were wearing black and all of them had lots of white on their uniforms ( my wife would say “covered with).
Draw your own conclusions, but my guess is that the floaters & uniform contaminates are probably not corn starch.
I ordered an individual GF pizza, with pepperoni, mushrooms and bell pepper and was delicious! Grimaldi's has a great vibe, excellent food and excellent service. Had no issues with cross contamination. However, they call it "gluten friendly" which kind of means there could easily be cross contamination. Maybe I got lucky, not sure, but I'll definitely be going back.
