An amazing gluten free find! Harry’s is a charming New Orleans style southern food restaurant that has so much charm! They have a beautiful garden with fairy lights and live music. They do not take reservations and when we went at 7:30 on a Tuesday it was a 50 min wait for two. They give you a table buzzer and you’re free to enjoy a drink at either the upstairs or downstairs bar (or listen to the live music in the garden). We chose the less crowded upstairs bar (steep stairs fyi) and our table was ready in 15 minutes! The drinks were strong and fairly priced and the bartender was so lovely! We had dinner inside downstairs and our server Katee was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable about celiac and gluten free dining and I was safe for my entire dining experience. They have a separate gluten free menu that has appetizers to desserts. I had the boudain balls (tested in my Nima and they were gluten free:) and the shrimp scampi modified to be served over rice instead of pasta. Both were mind blowingly delicious!!! I never thought I’d get to eat boudain balls again after having to be gluten free, so it was a treat! I highly recommend for gluten free diners and I would go back in a heart beat! My husband is lucky and can eat anything, he had calamari, ribeye and Oreo beignets. 10/10 for all! If you’re gluten free (or even if you’re not) please stop at Harry’s, it’s worth the wait!

Very limited items on the gf menu. Food was extremely rich. Environment definitely cool but a very busy place. Can also have frozen cocktails!

Amazing experience!! Navin was our server and the first thing he said when he came to the table was “are there any food allergies I need to know about” and then he said “here are the gluten free specials first” he shared all the specials and multiple times confirmed that my meal will be safe. I got a chicken Caesar salad and the best gluten free key lime pie ever! It was great food, great service, and I did not get sick!

Small GF menu. I ended up with grilled chicken with honey mustard and the sweet corn grits. The sweet corn grits were delicious and the grilled chicken was OK. I didn’t get sick so they did good avoiding cross contamination, but the meal was just OK for the price

Long wait time to get in the door.
The GF menu is very limited and modicatons make some items not worth ordering. (Photo uploaded)
Their corn side salad tasted like it was out of a can. I wasn't a fan of the red fin fish (first time I believe I've had red fin so it may not be my thing)
The waitress was knowledgeable and great service besides.
Their key lime pie is more recently gluten free (using almond flour) and is to die for!

Love Harry’s!!! Separate gf menu. Waiters and waitresses always clarify what specific ingredients need to be removed to make sure meals are gf. Very knowledgeable staff. I always order fish as my meal but recently got gluten free boudin balls as an appetizer and they were delish!! My boyfriend who is not gf enjoyed them as well.

Update: we ate here again tonight and had a completely different experience the second time. While our waiter was super friendly, every single thing we ordered was incorrect tonight. I HATE sending anything back to the kitchen, but I received incorrect items over and over and was served a salad with croutons. I'm still not sure if my main dish was served with gluten (I ordered the exact same meal), but it did come spicy, which I requested it to not be. I'll know soon whether it had gluten. Definitely not as confident as last night. A good waiter makes all the difference! I would suggest asking the door staff to seat you in a section with a knowledgeable waiter and let them know from the very beginning you are GF.
We ate here last night and it was amazing! The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful and we had a really great server! They brought me a specifically gluten-free menu and talked about some of the options with me. They also made sure that none of my food was spicy, which was another request I had. I decided to go with the shrimp scampi, because I had read other good reviews of this and it’s a favorite food of mine. It was delicious and was served with white rice instead of pasta. I also ordered a side salad (the server made sure to mention he would not be bringing croutons) with honey mustard and it was also delicious. When waitstaff brought out my plate, they mentioned again that it was gluten-free. Throughout the whole evening I was very impressed with the staff listening to my requests and making sure I got a great meal that would not make me sick. 24 hours in and I feel great. No reaction to the food. I am planning on going back at least once more on this trip and will either get the same thing (because it was so good) or try the scallops next time!

Delicious food. I was able to get the filet and shirt gluten free. The boutine ball were amazing. As well as the banana fosters.

We were SO impressed with Harry’s! Atmosphere is unbelievable, food is delicious, and staff was great. Gluten free menu didn’t have as many options as the full menu but it the food was so good it didn’t matter. We got shrimp scampi and it was a huge portion. Bananas foster for dessert. Yum!

My French baked scallops were amazing! I would definitely go back.

I loved my meal—scallops in a flavorful sauce and grits. The best meal I had during my three days in St. Augustine. A must if I return to the area.

Came from out of town with a group of friends. Got the gluten sensitive menu and talked to our waiter about the fact that my meal had to be gf. He was very understanding and reassuring. I ordered a shrimp salad. The general manager comes out and serves me a salad with crotons. I asked them to remake it, and they did promptly and apologized. Service wasn’t great and good was okay.
Food was good and there is a gluten sensitive menu to guide your choices. We enjoyed it!
We ate there twice. Both times with no issue. Even when super busy they were aware of GF foods and need for careful preparation. Over the course of our two meals, we had pork tenderloin, the baked scallops, blackened chicken and the boudin balls. All good. And most importantly, no reaction for my very sensitive celiac child.

There are gluten-free menu had plenty of options. The Boudin balls were excellent! My non-GF husband Said he couldn’t imagine them taste any better. We shared the shrimp and chicken Creole. It was wonderful. What an enjoyable evening! We will make this part of our trips when we go to Saint Augustine!

They have a really good gf menu and the waiter was very knowledgeable of what we could and couldn't eat and if he wasn't sure he gladly checked with the cooks. Me and both of my kids have gluten and dairy allergies and they were able to accommodate us and we really enjoyed eating here. Good food and good service.

Service was great, waiter was knowledgeable. Had a delicious GF chicken and Creole dish. Highly recommend

This restaurant was wonderfully accommodating!! We had gotten a coupon for a free app of fried green tomatoes. I had let the server know I was celiac and she was very knowledgeable and nice about it. My friend put the order in for the fried green tomatoes as I was just going to notnpartake in that dish. Literally a cook came out and wanted to talk to me because he was concerned that I didn’t know about the fried green tomatoes being cooked in a non-safe fryer. He also wanted to run by me an idea he had to make me able to eat them by just frying them in a separate pan for me without the breading. It was literally one of the nicest experiences I’ve ever had since being celiac within the last year. The food was wonderful - I had grilled shrimp, green beans and rice. Delicious! And environment was just gorgeous!!!

Eaten there at least 5 times and have been happy with everything I have ordered except Blackened shrimp was a little too spicy for me

I had the salmon salad and it was AMAZINGGGGGG!!! Very much gluten free and they are very aware of what is and isn't. Phenomenal service as well.
Had a great lunch at Harry's. Food was amazing. Service was great. And they have a dedicated gluten free menu with a number of items to choose from (not just salads!). the gf menu is not on their website but I was able to get them to email it to me before our visit.
Worst experience ever! Horrible customer service. Didn't care about customers; the manger was belligerent and didn't care about gluten free requests. Don't go!!!
We picked this because my daughter loves salmon. Unfortunately, salmon is the only fish they can't make gluten free because of the marinade. She got the mahi mahi grilled with rice. She really liked it. We loves the smashed potatoes as well. Staff was knowledgeable, very careful about CC. When you order GF and have celiac or an allergy, the waiter has to put notes on the ticket and then have a face to face with the chef.

Not the biggest GF menu, but I did appreciate the separate menu and they were able to work with me to make an item on the main menu GF. I had plain mahi mahi with mashed potatoes and my husband had the bayou shrimp with corn medley- both meals were SOO good! Can't wait to go again.

I went for lunch and they did have a gluten free menu. The food was good, three stars because they need to expand the GF menu, a couple options just isn't enough.
This was a terrible experience. They had a handful of items on their gluten free menu however if you have a dairy allergy. There is dairy in literally everything and they were not at all willing to work with me. I ordered pork and green beans completely plain as they were the only thing I could have. I asked for any sauce, even salad dressing. Every dressing has dairy (not mayo). The manager finally came out saying that they had one sauce, then handed me a container of olive oil. Meal was flavorless and service was terrible.
Knowledgeable staff and excellent food. I recommend it!

I uploaded their gluten sensitive menu to the photos here. They have a decent amount of options. I had the Pork Tenderloin - that was AMAZING! Very, very flavorful! My girlfriend had their burger (no bun), which was one of the best burgers we've ever had! Their coleslaw was great and service was pretty good as well. Overall, it was a good experience - but the food tasted amazingly!

Went for lunch. They have a small gluten free menu. My husband (who has Celiac) ordered an ahi tuna salad. He and the waitress discussed which dressings would be gluten free. She wa t back to the kitchen and confirmed an Asian dressing would be okay. When the salad arrived we confirmed again. Again she went to the kitchen and came back confirming that it was. My husband started to feel I'll as he was finishing the salad. We asked for a list of ingredients and it contained both soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. At this point the manager came out and apologized that there was a hit of gluten In the dressing but since the owner's mother didn't have a reaction to the dressing they assumed it was okay for all Celiacs. not the case as now our vacation will be spent in our hotel room and my husband recovers with 2 weeks of stomach issues.
The food was good. The server was not that knowledgeable but tried hard to make sure it was right. They have a GF menu.
Great atmosphere in the heart of St. Augustine. Beautiful Courtyard with live music at dinner time. A separate gluten free menu with lots of authentic New Orleans options. Only dessert is Bananas Foster which we did not try as we were so full from the delicious entrees. We highly recommend the Bayou Shrimp, the Shrimp Creole and Harry's Chicken. They do not offer gluten free bread. Highly recommend,

Had a delicious dinner here. They offered a specific gf menu. We had 2 entrees (Harry's chicken and rosemary grilled shrimp.). Both were very good. Also the bananas foster rocked.
Decent variety on the GF menu. I tried blackened chicken with grits (a little spicy!) and it was awesome! No illness so far 48 hours later. Atmosphere was nice and I would definitely go back to try something new!

This was a delightful meal! This restaurant overlooks the St. Johns River, so ask to be seated in the courtyard or inside next to a window for the stunning views. A Creole GF menu was presented. The seafood was fresh and delicious. I had the grilled shrimp with rice and steamed vegetables. The staff were helpful in clarifying if the Harry's sauce was GF, and they gave great service. Best of all we had a card for free appetizer (not GF) and a coupon for 10% off from restaurant guide to St. Augustine. This great GF meal was $13.50 plus tax and tip.

Great! I got the shrimp scampi with rice. It was delicious!
The grits were awesome. The staff was a little off, they offered me bread. But I will eat here again
Delicious!! I ordered the baked scallops, grits and a mojito martini. It tasted WAY to good to be GF. I left very happy!
