Reading the Hershey Park website, I was thrilled to read about the GF options and all the trained staff who can make GF food. Unfortunately, what is on the internet doesn't match reality.

We made four trips to Hershey this year (twice in Summer and twice for Christmas in Candylane), and on all occasions, the Allergy Outpost was not open. I'm not even sure it's still there anymore. That left GF options at Founder's Kitchen, Overlook Cafe, and Chick-fil-a. Out of all three, Chick-fil-a turned out be the best option... unless you show up on a Sunday.

At Overlook cafe, it took forever to find someone to make the GF food, and in retrospect, burning a $20 bill probably would have made me feel better afterwards. So, yes they have a GF only prep area, but they kept going back to the regular kitchen to get ladles, tongs, and didn't bother changing their gloves. Plenty of opportunities for cross contamination.

But the worst part was the food tasted terrible. The GF pizza tasted like a placemat with sauce and cheese, the chicken tenders tasted weird... and don't get me started on the GF fries.

The lessons learned is... yes, Hershey has GF options, but you may not want to eat it.

PS - Don't bother with the GF options at Chocolate World... they tasted terrible too...
