Review of Hickory Park

Very pleased! We came to Ames to tour ISU. Hickory Park was recommended as a ‘must try’ by an alumni friend, but the reviews on FMGF were what prompted us to try it. It was my celiac son’s birthday, so also special occasion dinner. First, the GF menu is the size of a placemat. HUGE GF selection! My boy ordered a sampler platter and he ended up getting 5 meals out of it! I have a number of other sensitivities and they worked with me to have a delicious meal that was safe for me. The manager came to the table to explain their kitchen safety procedures. After the meal, the birthday boy got a free ice cream Sunday from a newly opened container and a birthday song from the team of servers. Nobody got sick and the non-GFers in our family were delighted with their meal, too. It was a lovely meal! I almost hope he picks ISU just so we can come back here!
