Holy Smoke Texas Style BBQ

The meats are SO fatty I could barely eat them, but ya, they are gf. Got the sampler with brisket and ribs and ended up pretty much only eating the baked potato. Prices are not crazy like other bbqs, but with the fat-to-meat ratio I'd say puts it back up there in the expensive range. Seriously SO MUCH FAT-yuck!!

Delicious bbq. Signs where you order telling what is GF. Staff also knew about gluten. All the meats, sauces and beans are GF. Bread and mac-n-cheese obviously were not.

Seemed like most things were GF here and they have a separate GF menu as well. Delicious, falling apart brisket and I didn’t get sick! The tri tip was not nearly as good.

Willing to look past the weird jesus stuff because I ate here twice and didn't get sick! I appreciate that they have a gluten-free sign up on the counter to help make easy choices.

Most sides are gluten free and all bbq is. Bread and cornbread might be only thing that has gluten. Always sooo good too. Recommend the smoked chicken and baked beans. (Coleslaw not the best though)

Black board by the registers list their gluten free options, basically all the meats, all the sauces, and most of the sides. Fantastic food, will definitely be coming back!

They have a very obvious gluten free menu on the counter and the food is absolutely delicious! Very generous portions. Will definitely go back next time I’m in Bishop.

Fantastic find!! I had delicious GF ribs (without glaze), all the BBQ sauces are GF, and had coleslaw and potato salad as my sides. My whole family including our 4 year old enjoyed our BBQ lunch

Super Sensitive Celiac here and this place had decent options and I did not get sick. Staff knew exactly what to do.

Very knowledgeable about GF issues, with an extensive list of GF options shown at the ordering station ( rather than an exclusively GF menu). The BBQ itself was delicious (I had ribs). An amazing find in a small town.

The server taking our order was very informed of which ingredients were not gluten free and there was a sign on the counter noting all gluten free items. She exchanged the corn bread (not GF) for an extra side of meat for no extra cost. She mentioned the glaze on the ribs are not gluten free, but that all the BBQ sauces were. We’ll definitely be eating here again.

Exceptional. Very accommodating to my gluten allergy. Server was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious! If I find myself in Bishop again, I will definitely come here.

We had a good experience here. There aren't many places for someone with gluten intolerance to eat along the eastern Sierra. It was a quick meal, bathrooms were very clean, and I noticed a baby changing station was also available. Food was good and gluten free selection was large. Sauces are a bit on the sweet side but tasty. I did not experience the issues mentioned in previous reviews. The staff was friendly and went back to the kitchen to double check on my order.

I was super excited because all of their sauces are made in house and gluten free but then halfway through eating my salad I discovered a layer of croutons underneath all of the lettuce. Don't eat here if you have Celiac.

Everything started out good, I explained I couldn't eat gluten, the woman taking the order responded that she couldn't either. She helped me pick my meal and I went and sat down. When it came out it had a big old piece of Texas toast in the tray. In a panic I raced back to the kitchen. The same woman who took my order proceeded to pluck the bread off the tray and hand it back to me. I explained that I needed a new piece of meat and tray and everything because there were still bread crumbs all over and I was really sensitive. She took it in the back and yelled about how it was supposed to be gluten free and she needed a new piece of chicken. I'm pretty sure that they just pulled the chicken and side and pickle and put them on a fresh tray.

Best bbq place in town. The food was yummiliciousness. The service was fast and the staff were ever so helpful. Can't wait to go back. A great celiac friendly restaurant. The best part besides the food is the owners are Christian.

Like other reviews said almost everything is gluten free except the Rolls, cornbread, Mac and cheese and the Rib sauce which you can ask them to leave off. All BBQ sauce is GF. To top it off the staff was super friendly. It ranges from $6 to $16 a plate, you get a good amount of food and it very filling. It's very tasty. The building is small so you get more of a cozy atmosphere. We were driving through and were served quickly. There is a baseball field behind the building if your traveling and need to let the kids run around a bit.

Agree with the other reviewer: knew what I meant when I said that I must eat gluten-free, and quickly reviewed the items in the menu that I could and couldn't eat. Every BBQ item on the menu was gluten-free except the runs, but they'll make them g-free if you want them. All BBQ sauce g-free. All sides g-free except Mac 'n cheese and cornbread.

Staff is knowledgeable on gluten allergies. Food is very delicious!! There is a big selection and all the meat and most of the sides are available.
