The staff at the downtown Tempe location was highly unprofessional, rude, inappropriately dressed, and playing music with profane lyrics. I asked for no cheese and they made my sandwich with cheese. I had to return it and they were rude about having to make it again. Not confident that they take precautions for allergens. I had to ask make sure that were using gluten free bread.

I absolutely love Ike’s. I have Celiac as does my sister. The bread is toasted in a shared space, but I’ve been coming here for years with my sister and never had a problem. Sometimes they toast it on a separate piece of paper to separate the bread from the oven.

The staff was very knowledgeable about what would not only taste great, but satisfy my dietary needs (celiac and vegan). Always a good time.
All bread, even GF, goes through a shared oven that blows air. I really appreciate the staff warning us but it means the GF bread is not really an option except maybe for people just looking to reduce, but not eliminate, gluten. There are lettuce wraps. Precautions against cross-contamination don't look to be that thorough. It's a nice place and the people were very friendly and helpful but it's basically a college campus sandwich shop and not set up for true GF.

best gluten free bread I've had in Arizona
This location's gluten free sandwiches are just as amazing as the Mea's location. I love the sandwiches and often and drive way out of my way to get one. I'm hoping a location in Phoenix opens up!

OMG! The service was beyond fantastic and I can't believe how good the gluten free bread is! I felt like I was eating real bread for the first time in a year. Wow! I will definitely be going to Ike's as often as possible!
GF & DF (Gluten/Dairy Free) Sandwiches! Ike's Place in Tempe offers GF/Vegeterian/Vegan options on REAL Gluten Free Hoagie Rolls (locally sourced GF bakery)! My current fave is the "Lizzy's Lips" (Halal Chicken, Italian Dressing, Lettuce/Tomato/Banana Peppers/Onions, and their super-awesome "Dirty Sauce"). Be sure to order IN PERSON & stress that you have GLUTEN ALLERGY; insists that they change their gloves/prepare separately. So far, I've had their sandwiches 3x's & no reaction (knock on wood!). Thanks so much to Ike's for being the friendliest & best GF/DF hoagie shop in Tempe!

I have gone to various Ike’s locations for years, and I am a sensitive Celiac. I have yet to get sick. They take extra precautions, so your food will take 15 extra minutes on top of a normal sandwich time. I recommend ordering in advance through the app or online. Also, the bread is incredibly dry, so order extra sauce on the bread. I normally order Italian dressing and ask it to be put on both sides of the bread before the toppings. It is a $3 upcharge for gluten free and then extra for the sauce, so know your sandwich will be pricey. So. Delicious. And. Worth it.

This is the best sandwich shop ever! While offering gluten free options for celiac, they also offer regular food. Staff is nice and organized. Food takes a little too long to prepare. But delicious. Definitely recommend.

Catered to my celiac properly. went and washed her hands and changed her gloves. Got the Matt Cain extra dirty with a rice crispy treat. With no reaction! Bread fell apart but that’s to be expected. Lots of options to choose from!

Just stopped by to ask about their allergy food handling. The girl working there was so sweet she wrote me a list of things that contain gluten. Well be coming back to order !
