I have celiac, and my husband does not have to eat gluten free. We got a mix of sushi rolls. I had asked if the sauces that top the rolls are also gluten free and she said if there’s a star, it can be made gluten free. The waitress did confirm my rolls as gf, and my husbands as normal, which felt like a good step. My gf rolls came without the sauces (which were part of the reason I got the rolls I did). We were sitting at the sushi bar, so I asked the chefs, and they let me know they only had tamari, no other gf sauces (which is fine, I would just have ordered differently). However, both my husband and I ended up sick. I’m assuming it wasn’t a gluten reaction, as my husband was also sick, but we won’t be returning.
— Gluten-free items are marked on the main menu
I’ve been here twice now, once before I had to stop eating gluten and once after. There’s a note in their menu saying that certain rolls are available gluten free. I asked for a separate sushi check-box menu and labeled it gluten free. I was expecting just those rolls to be different, but they immediately brought out gluten free soy sauce and gluten free wasabi. I heard the sushi chefs call out gluten free when my orders were up, and they came of separate plates. I don’t have celiac and don’t know if they have designated gluten free equipment. But the food was amazing and they were so accommodating and friendly.
